This recording proves the fact with stunning brilliance: from the castanets of the Fandango to the much more Viennese style of the String Quartet, the musicians of the Cuarteto Casals and their guests demonstrate the infinite creative resources of the composer. It culminates in the Night Music of the Streets of Madrid, a vivid example of musical realism in which, as Boccherini put it, ‘the strict rules of counterpoint' would be out of place!

Amsterdam producer and DJ duo Makèz re-unite with LA vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Life on Planets for their next Classic outing, ‘Give It Life’. The frequent collaborators have made waves together since first track ‘Downstream’ drew the attention of tastemakers like Louie Vega, The Martinez Brothers, and Mr. G, with follow-up track ‘Running From The Noise’ appearing on Makèz’s 2024 EP Midnight Time. The Dutch duo have since found a second home on Luke Solomon’s Classic imprint, with 2025 release ‘Loosen Your Bones’ with London MC Pinty receiving club support from Laurent Garnier, Carl Craig and Jamie Jones. With incoming shows at Defected’s new Pacha Ibiza residency, Mochakk’s Calling Festival and Dom Dolla’s residency at Hï Ibiza set for summer 2025, Dennis Ferrer continues to prove himself as one of the world’s premiere selectors. His status as a house innovator has been cemented through new ventures, including the launch of thriftshoppe with partner Olena Ferrer, and this highly anticipated label debut from an NYC legend heralds Classic’s 30th anniversary. Starting as a collaboration between Girls of the Internet’s Tom Kerridge and UK soul sensation Sophie Faith, ‘Affirmations’ was released in summer of 2023 prior to the collective’s full-length LP When I Was Lost, I Found Myself.
