I don’t really know how to exactly describe the style/vibe that I feel inspired to put together for Mushroom Valley each year.  Mushy has a particular psychedelic vibe and intention and is one of the happiest dance floors to play to.  I always dig deep for Mushy and try to bring a flowing journey and integration of a few different ideas and movements.  Fundamentally it’s techno, but techno is a diverse term and the techno sound has definitely gone deep on the synths and atmospheres recently which means this meeting of worlds is pretty tasty to put together.

At best I would describe this sort of set as an ambitious unification of European proper driving techno vibes with the atmospheres of progressive house / progressive trance, and the flow dynamics of doof festivals and psy vibes in Australia.  Track selection, progression and resonance are vital when trying to tell a story like this from a divergent set of musical elements.  Mixing on the Model 1 means I can use effects and additional tracks of loops and atmospheres to glue it all together a bit more, but I also really like to let each track shine in it’s own moment. So it's a lot of fun to be able to plan a story with a particular festival in vibe in mind.

Being given opportunities like this will always be significant to me, and I will always dig deep and try to bring the best I can to the moment that we all create together.
