Do you believe in conincidences?

I don’t - anymore. I used to believe in conincidences but I’ve learned that everything happens for a reason. And that everything in life happens for you, not to you.

So, I have been busying myself with the idea of an remix album of classic tracks of mine for quite some time. But I struggled with the selection of tracks and which remix artist to pair with which track.  Until certain people entered my life. Some of them I only „met“ through their music on social media and never in person, others I met briefly, like in a car to a festival and some I started to hang out with and they became real life friends. All of these people connect with my music and I feel drawn to their music and in many ways we insprire each other.  As a natural result this remix EP took shape and I am excited to present it to you. The record contains four remixes of tracks from my back catalogue that cover a period of 20 (!) years, from my early days on Bush in the mid 90s to my first label Spiel-Zeug Schallplatten in the 00`s up until now, where I run Electric Ballroom from Berlin. ACCIDENTAL RE RELEASE WISHMOUNTAIN'S CLASSIC 'RADIO' ON LIMITED 12" - Monday 10th September

After such an overwhelming positive response to Matthew Herbert’s recent return with the Wishmountain project ‘Tesco’, Accidental records have decided to release this limited run 12” featuring some of the highlights of the original project., including the classic ‘Radio’. 

Radio was originally released on seminal 90's techno label Antiphon records and first championed by Djs such as Sven Vath and Westbam as well as being a club classic for legendary clubs like Fuse in Belgium. The track blasted its way in to nightclubs around the world despite being made only from 8 sounds of a beaten up plastic radio. In many ways it made Matthew's name, as someone ready to bring real and challenging sounds to the largely synthetic soundscape of club music while being unafraid to make people dance at the same time.

Herbert House music fans will not be disappointed by this clutch of rare tracks, available for a short time on vinyl.

Berlin producer Harry Axt entered the club fray with a succession of EPs on Jan Driver's Grand Petrol Recordings nearly a decade ago. Over the ensuing years, Axt’s stature has grown as he’s released on renowned labels such as Leftroom, Snork Enterprises, Overdrive and AFU Limited. Dropping a split 12" with Siriusmo on the aforementioned Grand Petrol, 

Axt has  remixed luminaries like Christopher Just, Broombeck, The Horrorist and Miro Pajic. More recently reworking classic rave anthems by Yves de Ruyter and Cherry Moon Trax on fabled Belgian techno bastion Bonzai Records. 

Axt’s bourgeoning discography piqued the interest of many of the foremost figures in electronic music. Harry Axt cuts have been heavily supported by luminaries such as Adam Beyer, Miss Kittin & Seth Troxler while his track ‘Deliberately Selected’ featured on Hot Chip’s Bugged Out compilation.
