The musical loop for my first ever published game - Why Not Try Another Route? The game was made in about 2 hours collectively: concepted halfway through a uni lecture, prototyped up immediately after, and polished that night. The music was a part of this process & reflects the development process: simplistic, basic and focused. Not my magnum opus, but an important part of my history as a creative. I believe it effectively matches the games straightforward design, and effectively mounts frustration the longer you hear it - so the longer it takes to solve the puzzle, the more compounded your anger will be. Just for the lols here's me experimenting with NES audio in Famitracker and Namco 163 mapper sounds after finishing up some tunes for a lovely new game... The recording lasts for 10mins or so in real time, the pauses are for my brain to work (also realtime :P) it's far slower to work in Famitracker than most music software due to how the cursor moves and how tired I am currently *grin* 

Bit more info: the 163 audio plays alongside the standard NES 2a03 chip sounds which provides the triangle, pulsewidth and noise percussion. 

If you don't know what a Mapper is - 
Famicom/NES hardware needed mappers in order to access data on larger memory footprint cartridges, without these mappers all our games would have been the size of Super Mario Brothers (tiny! at around 48kb in size) Nintendo also factored in the possibility for these chips to output extra sound capabilities to the cart edge giving the Famicom more sound channels (even FM in one case :)) the chip I'm messing with is a later Namco mapper chip that allows for 8 extra channels of super simple single cycle waveforms, which you would have to draw by hand a byte at a time  :)

Fun fact - The Namco 163 chip is prob the inspiration behind the Gameboy's tiny wave channel memory...

No other samples in this,(tho there is space to add them, too lazy atm :P) just pure wavetable and 2a03 stuff...
