Any artist is welcome to send us a track via freshonthenet.co.uk anytime between Monday lunchtime and Wednesday evening (or when we receive 200 submissions, whichever is sooner) - and all our moderators, including Tom Robinson, will listen to every track. This is our full inbox from the week beginning Mon 6th October 2025: from Friday afternoon you'll be able to hear our shortlist and pick your favourites on this week's Listening Post which will appear at freshonthenet.co.uk/batch584

If a track you submitted does not appear in this list, it’s probably because another of your tracks appeared in our Fresh Faves or on the BBC Music Introducing Mixtape during the last three months — we ask that artists featured on either wait three months before resubmitting to give others a chance. 

We also don’t accept short previews or SoundCloud Go tracks that can only be heard as 30 second previews, and tracks made private after submission, which cannot be included in playlists. You will be able to resubmit the track in future. Tracks (and remixes of tracks) that have been previously submitted, and tracks from banned artists will also be removed.

Christmas songs and the like are also not eligible for the Listening Post, although we will collect these into a playlist that will be published on 24 December.

Birmingham’s 12-piece rock-and-brass powerhouse Big Band of Boom return with “Earthquake”, a colossal new single lifted from their forthcoming album. Out 10 September 2025, the track captures the band’s trademark collision of heavy guitars and horn-driven firepower in three and a half explosive minutes.

With thunderous riffs, punchy horn lines and a chorus built for festival fields, “Earthquake” threads together vivid tectonic imagery - aftershocks, fault lines, foundations failing—with a swaggering femme-fatale narrative. The result is a visceral anthem that feels like the floor shifting beneath your feet.

“‘Earthquake’ is about that moment when chemistry hits like a plate-shift. It’s visceral, a little dangerous and impossible to ignore, so we made a tune that feels like the floor moving under your feet,” the band explain.

The single follows May’s double A‑side “Energy Vampire / Anxiety Universe”, which showcased the band’s tongue‑in‑cheek bite and widescreen brass‑rock aesthetic.  Growing momentum saw the band's original release "Big Bad Voodoo" aired on BBC6 Music this summer.

Tidal Wave is about that flood of emotion when you let yourself feel fully, even if it crashes in all at once. The temporary drowning that can lead to clarity.
This project came together as I let go, as I let the wave take me where it needed to. I was trying to be honest, learning not to hide from what hurts.
Written, produced & mixed entirely by me.

‘Remember Me’ is an emotional pop-rock track with introspective lyrics and a melodic, uplifting vibe. Written as a reflection on memories, growth, and moving forward, it combines heartfelt storytelling with driving instrumentation. Mixed and produced by Kyle Palmer, mastered by John P Braddock, with backing vocals/bass guitar by Joseph Greenough.

'SHADOWWORK' is the final track from Catherine's sophomore album, 'Bring In The Wild' (August 2025). The album draws inspiration from Jungian psychology and shadow work, inviting the listener to confront and embrace our inner shadows that we usually push away, so that we can fully accept and love ourselves.

When Stovetops approached me with this idea to do a drum & bass remix of Arctic Monkeys, I was stoked! Arctic Monkeys have been one of my favorite bands since I first got introduced to them. 

So, we took 505 and flipped it into a deep drum & bass tune. Filled it with synths and vibes and gave the song a new light.
