Gayle San (SIN) - NightVision Techno PODCAST 48 Pt. 2

Bio:
Gayle's first steps into the London clubs were via DJing at record company parties, various one-off guest spots and fashion shows. These slots soon led to Gayle being made resident at 'Reach for the Sky' at London's Limelight club, where she played alongside global DJs which Gayle describes as "the steepest learning curve possible". Having honed her DJing skills and broadened her understanding of music, Gayle began to experiment with the harder side of dance music, particularly the lesser known techno sounds coming into Britain from Europe and the US of that time. Her chance to pioneer this music in England came when Gayle became resident at Universe's legendary Final Frontier club, at Club U.K. in south London, which then moved on to become Universe Voyager at their new club, the Complex in north London,and she was also resident at all the Tribal Gatherings Festivlas. Final frontier was widely regarded as one of the best club nights in the world, it was not long before Gayle had amassed a following of techno pilgrims who would make journeys from as far as Edinburgh to hear her play. Gayle's reputation of her 3 decks mixing skills and dj sets spread like wildfire over the techno centres of Europe, most notably a residency once a month at the legendary Omen club in Frankfurt, the socalled 'Mecca of techno' that opened doors.Other European and American dates have included some of the most underground clubs in the world,from playing at high profile parties for Prince,Chaka Khan and Kylie minogue to name a few, to playing clubs like Bionic in Detroit, Pure Pleasure parties in Chicago, Soma in Montreal, Twilo in New York, Zouk Club in Singapore, Florida 135 in Spain, Fuse Club in Belgium,M47 in Hungary and many more all over Europe ,South America and the U.S.A. In 2000 she was voted number 6. of the most popular international DJs in Germany. Remaining in the top ten list has been a regularity ever since. In regards to the massive competition of the worlds DJs,and to be the only female dj in the top ten, it was an honour of her hard work in the last years. DJing has naturally led to various studio work and starting her own label Equator. Gayle has developed a sound that takes the intelligent beats of the underground, funky/hard/groove techno sound mixed with her very own style.Gayle loves producing on her own but also enjoys collaborations with other producers to absorb outside creativity. She has released on numerous labels throughout europe .Gayle has reduced her touring dates in the last 2 years,not surprising after travelling the world for 18 years to make more time for her production /collaboration works.Gayle never fails to rock the world..s dancefloor with her mixing skills and her choice of music .Gayle has already been called the best female techno legend and she is not ready to hang up her headphones just yet.

Robin Scholz aka Subchain begann seine DJ-Karriere im Jahre 2006 und sicherte sich recht früh die Residenz im Club Mammut in Balve, wo er alljährlich die Afterhour zum legendären Mixery Cave veranstaltet.
Subchain steht in musikalischer Sicht für einen Techno-Vulkan, der nur darauf wartet auszubrechen. Treibende, brachiale und mitreißende Sets zeichnen den jungen Sauerländer aus, der immer wieder auf das Neue den Floor zum Beben bringt.
Ein großer Sprung in der Karriere machte er als Floorhost bei der erfolgreichen CLR-Partyreihe namens Sound of Butan im Wuppertaler Kult-Club Butan. Dort bewies er sich Monat für Monat unter unzähligen Newcomern als absolute Dancefloor-Maschine als gäbe es kein Morgen mehr.
Es wurde Zeit für größere Projekte, so spielte er neben Torsten Kanzler im Berliner Club Tresor, gewann unter Pseudonym Electrotool den Remix Contest bei Dubfire auf seinem Label SCI + TEC Digital Audio und sicherte sich einen Vertrag bei der Agentur Black Circus, die von Mike Maass & Intense Pressure gegründet wurde.
Aktuell arbeitet Subchain hart an seinen nächsten Produktionen und sprengt weiter die Mauern der Clubs quer durch Deutschland! Wie wird es wohl in 10 jahren aussehen ?

Marek Hradil aka Destroyer is a multistylish electronic music and sound composer, producer, live performer and dj based in Prague, Czech Republic.

Hey guys. Here's my 7 - 9 closing set @ Tekno Mulisha's epic 7th Bday Warehouse party.
The night saw 3 awesome warehouse rooms absolutely jumping from start to end. 

All the tracks mixed straight off the Wax, I decided i would ease off the gas a little and try wind back the clock to some of the most timeless Acid & Techno Bombs from the last 20ish years. We navigate through some hugely recognizable tracks and artists here while slowly moving the pace back and forth to reign in the Daylight : )
Over the last 15 years I've seen most of these tracks smashing Melbourne's dancefloor's time and time again by a lot of the local heroes who shaped my sound today. 
The amount of old, new & upcoming talent in Melbourne has always been overflowing and i think for a long time has kept us close to the forefront of Electronic music.
My goal was to leave you with a mental picture from Melbourne's perspective of a timeless era of classic electronic music. 

Towards the end of the set there's really short silence due power dropping out. I had mega fun smashing this one out.  Hope you enjoy Guys.

Hey guys, here is a Psychedelic Trance set I played on the weekend at a private gathering deep in the Victorian bush.

Big thanks to the crew for getting me onboard. That is such a beautiful site. 
It was great seeing so many familiar faces and getting to enjoy some killer beats.
 
My set was from 11pm to 12:30am. The vibe is mainly Forest Psy with a few Night Psy tracks thrown in for good measure. There's a really broad range of artists throughout the mix including a few I hadn't heard of before.

Harry Blotter / JFX has been a familiar face throughout the Melbourne electronic music scene since 2003. Now a well established Dj across multiple styles currently in his 15th year performing throughout Australia.

2013 saw him make the jump from Label Dj to Label Manager taking control of Highly Evolved Music from a longtime friend. He remains the driving force behind the label, currently overseeing their 28th Release. Continually focussed on releasing the finest unheard Psytrance, Prog & Techno bursting out from Melbourne’s never ending pool of hugely talented underground producers.

Determine to join his many peers putting out killer productions, the last two years have seen him sharpening his own techniques almost daily. 2016 saw Harry release his first 2 original tracks. Expect many more over the coming months before the dynamic debut of both his Techno & Psytrance Lives Sets during 2017.

A proud product of the Vinyl era, Harry still holds a keen interest in scratching and turntablizm. Over the years contributing cuts & performing alongside a small number of credible Hip Hop artists. With a love of Vinyl that still burns bright to this day his collection of 2000+ records is somewhat of a time capsule. Encompassing loads of rare Techno, Acid, Hip Hop, Trance, DnB, Psy Trance & more.

Harry has a keen interest in how styles of music were created and the way they evolve over time. Easily Spending 1000’s of hrs in local Record Stores over the years, he has just returned from his third trip across Europe in the search of new sounds while researching his passion. Using this inspiration to build on his own Techno and PsyTrance sets to share with crowds at home.

Playing across three decks and a Pioneer RMX-1000 FX unit Harry layers & manipulate his music in his own unique way. Playing instinctively he lets the moment dictate the direction his sounds will go. Always striving to showcase only the best fresh sounds 7 artists. In turn continuing his mission to help music evolve and grow for the coming generations.

Mirroring the likeness between day and night, people are instinctively drawn to Harry’s unique intuitive style. Driving bass lines, hypnotic melodies and rhythmic percussion are effortlessly interwoven, taking the crowd on an mesmerizing journey. Always giving special attention to the fine art of balancing education & entertainment.

Miss Mallory aka Peggy comes from Berlin and realized already very early her love for electronic music. In the early 90s she was subject among other influences from DJ's such as Kraftwerk, Sven Vath, Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills, Monika Kruse, Miss Djax and Dj Rush. 
Electronic Music in the harder variant came, saw and conquered for Mallory. She was inspired by the sound of Hard Techno. DJs like Pet Duo, Felix Kröcher, Dj Rush, Frank Kvitta, Arkus P., Kenned Pool, Linda Pearl and Robert Natus influenced the sound on which Miss Mallory walked. 

After numerous attended parties Miss Mallory decided to be the reason for celebration and to launch her own self. As she was always very musical and plays many instruments, she started her career as a DJ in 2007, bought their first equipment and began to mix 
- of course ONLY Vinyl -. 
After much back and forth reflection and unfortunately no more major record selection Miss Mallory switched to the digital mixing, where she was offered more choice of music as well as more technical possibilities. 

Everyone who books Miss Mallory today, gets to know straight, hard, driving techno. 
Her tracks are very well chosen and perfectly matched. The gentle sounds of techno make her more than just good. Behind the decks Mallory celebrates same as before. She pulls the audience into her spell. For her, it is important that the celebrating crowd has fun with her music and leaves the party with a smile on his face. 

When people aks her , how she build her Set´s ? Her response is : That´s simple , at the beginning I start hard. In the middle it is hard too – and at the end of the Set is hard!

Sup ppl. Here's a recording of a Prog Psy session I had at home.

Dedicated to the Upcoming  2012 Eclipse Festival in Cairns. This one starts off nice and chill, floating along around 135. Towing the line between melodic and Psychedelic it doesn't take long to build up pace before staying Bass heavy most of the way through.
 Featuring a whole heap of Global Progressive All-Stars.

Gayle Sans career already began in the late 80s in her hometown Singapore. She started as a warmup DJ for Bands such as Kool and the Gang Earth Wind and Fire and the Commodores,in the Top ten club which was the club of that moment on that island. Leaving her native Singapore in 1988,to pursue her dj career in the UK, nobody expected such a massive success for Gayle in the music business. Gayle's first steps into the London clubs were via DJing at record company parties, various one-off guest spots and fashion shows.


These slots soon led to Gayle being made resident at 'Reach for the Sky' at London's Limelight club, where she played alongside global DJs which Gayle describes as "the steepest learning curve possible". Having honed her DJing skills and broadened her understanding of music, Gayle began to experiment with the harder side of dance music, particularly the lesser known techno sounds coming into Britain from Europe and the US of that time. Her chance to pioneer this music in England came when Gayle became resident at Universe's legendary Final Frontier club, at Club U.K. in south London, which then moved on to become Universe Voyager at their new club, the Complex in north London,and she was also resident at all the Tribal Gatherings Festivlas. Final frontier was widely regarded as one of the best club nights in the world, it was not long before Gayle had amassed a following of techno pilgrims who would make journeys from as far as Edinburgh to hear her play. Gayle's reputation of her 3 decks mixing skills and dj sets spread like wildfire over the techno centres of Europe, most notably a residency once a month at the legendary Omen club in Frankfurt, the socalled 'Mecca of techno' that opened doors.


Other European and American dates have included some of the most underground clubs in the world,from playing at high profile parties for Prince,Chaka Khan and Kylie minogue to name a few, to playing clubs like Bionic in Detroit, Pure Pleasure parties in Chicago, Soma in Montreal, Twilo in New York, Zouk Club in Singapore, Florida 135 in Spain, Fuse Club in Belgium,M47 in Hungary and many more all over Europe, South America and the U.S.A. In 2000 she was voted number 6. of the most popular international DJs in Germany. Remaining in the top ten list has been a regularity ever since. In regards to the massive competition of the worlds DJs,and to be the only female dj in the top ten, it was an honour of her hard work in the last years. DJing has naturally led to various studio work and starting her own label Equator. Gayle has developed a sound that takes the intelligent beats of the underground, funky/hard/groove techno sound mixed with her very own style. Gayle loves producing on her own but also enjoys collaborations with other producers to absorb outside creativity. She has released on numerous labels throughout europe. Gayle has reduced her touring dates in the last 2 years,not surprising after travelling the world for 18 years to make more time for her production /collaboration works. Gayle never fails to rock the world..s dancefloor with her mixing skills and her choice of music. Gayle has already been called the best female techno legend and she is not ready to hang up her headphones just yet.

Björn Torwellen
From the moment his spaceship crashed on our little planet, Björn Torwellen was excited as well as inspired by its musical variety and looked deeply into each genre to expand his musical talent. In his youth the then discovered his fascination for electronic dance music.... Which was called "Techno", where he finally found his home. Getting more and more into it, he became a real "Techno-Punk" and started to spin records as well as first steps in producing own tracks. It became a passion. He lives Techno. His sound is dirty - His Techno is minimal.

Cortechs

Uncompromising. Dark. Atmospheric. Techno!

That`s the sound of Cortechs, Cologne. After a few releases on various Labels like "Sick Weird Rough", "ReWashed", "Speca Records" and others, Cortechs has finished the first album production "The End Justifies The Means". This Album will be Released through his regular label "Machine Box" on 22. Nov. 2011.


Beside original productions Cortechs is often
asked to do remixes for other Artists like Mark Morris, A. Trebor, Niereich to name a few. Always in exchange with other musicians the collaboration with Niereich starts, results are released on "TK Records" and "ReWashed". Further projects are scheduled.

Banging Techno sets 044 >> Gayle San // Björn Torwellen & Cortechs

Big thanks to Matty, Jade & the whole crew involved in this years Return to the Source.
Set in a beautiful location just north of Melbourne, it was a great gathering with a diverse bunch of artists all bringing something different to the table.

After a blasting Psytrance session throughout the first night, I played the final set closing the stage the stage from 5 to 6am. Following on from Cyan, I tried to keep the psychedelic energy flowing as the sun slowly rose.

As 6am approached I'd planned to finish up on a Goa vibe with a couple of classic tracks from Electric Universe & Hypnoxock. However with good vibes all around & no official word to stop the tunes, the stage kept running for an extra 90 mins.  

After about 100 minutes of pretty blasting Psytrance. I decided to flip the mood on it's head. Starting with a classic track from DnB maestro Amit, I then proceeded to work my way through some of the more psychedelic Techno I happened to have with me. 
Needless to say the good times continued setting the mood for the awesome day ahead.

I had a blast playing my set, mad respect goes out to all those rocking out right til the end.

Harry Blotter has been a familiar face throughout the Melbourne electronic music scene since 2003.  Now a well established Dj across multiple styles currently in his 15th year performing throughout Australia.

2013 saw him make the jump from Label Dj  to Label Manager taking control of Highly Evolved Music from a longtime friend. He remains the driving force behind the label, currently overseeing their 28th Release. Continually focussed on releasing the finest unheard Psytrance, Prog & Techno bursting out from Melbourne's never ending pool of hugely talented underground producers. 

Determine to join his many peers putting out killer productions, the last two years have seen him sharpening his own techniques almost daily. 2016 saw Harry release his first 2 original tracks.  Expect many more over the coming months before the dynamic debut of both his Techno & Psytrance Lives Sets during 2017.


A proud product of the Vinyl era, Harry still holds a keen interest in scratching and turntablizm. Over the years  contributing cuts & performing alongside a small number of credible Hip Hop artists.  With a love of Vinyl that still burns bright to this day his collection of 2000+ records is somewhat of a time capsule. Encompassing loads of rare Techno, Acid, Hip Hop, Trance, DnB, Psy Trance & more.

Harry has a keen interest in how styles of music were created and the way they evolve over time. Easily Spending 1000's of hrs in local Record Stores over the years, he has just returned from his third trip across Europe in the search of new sounds while researching his passion. Using this inspiration to build on his own Techno and PsyTrance sets to share with crowds at home.

Playing across three decks and a Pioneer RMX-1000 FX unit Harry layers & manipulate his music in his own unique way. Playing instinctively he lets the moment dictate the direction his sounds will go. Always striving to showcase only the best fresh sounds 7 artists. In turn continuing his mission to help music evolve and grow for the coming generations.

Mirroring the likeness between day and night, people are instinctively drawn to Harry's unique intuitive style.  Driving bass lines, hypnotic melodies and rhythmic percussion are effortlessly interwoven, taking the crowd on an mesmerizing journey. Always giving special attention to the fine art of balancing education & entertainment.  

Most recorded performances find a home on his sound cloud page. Now clocking over 125,000 plays & 20.000 D/l's across around 150 dj sets, mixes and original productions. His dedication has seen him build a truly global fan base. With overseas followers easily accounting for more than half of all time traffic.
