aethernal opens the remix compilation of his hypnotic debut record on Linie Neun with a reinterpretation of the track Lucid Echoes. Combined with broken rhythms and modulated synths, the transcendent mood of the original is put into a new context. 
Furthermore, the remix ep radiates a sophisticated variance of the originals, moving between experimental sequences, hypnotic progressions, housy sounds and warm ambient surfaces.

Adamo Golán - Exile And The New

Fresh on Francis Harris’ Kingdoms imprint comes Adamo Golán’s seven track LP, 'Exile And The New'. Golán is the alter ego of German artist Laurens A. Schmidt, who has been pursuing a more club-focused techno project, while developing an ever deeper fascination with experimental music, ambient and film scores. Drawing influence from his adopted homes Berlin and currently London, the 26-year-old has been uncompromisingly trying to develop his own musical voice.

'Exile And The New' expresses this ongoing pursuit and, being the  rst full-length and first ever release by Adamo Golán, marks the start of his most personal project to-date. Stretching over seven tracks, it touches upon a diverse set of sceneries, moods, and emotions whilst a distinctive sound design gives the work a subtle framework and guiding thread.

'Fis' starts the proceedings, introducing drones and field recordings and enveloping the listener in Golán’s distinct sound world. 'Just Friends' merges distant snapshots of disembodied vocals with granular sound design and a sense of both space and creeping claustrophobia simultaneously. It’s an approach the young producer has mastered - 'Replica' maintains an ambience of the deeply personal and a wider, hazy focus, realised via exquisite melodic fragments against a backdrop of pads and chiming electronics. Title track 'Exile And The New' unfolds around another cinematic world scored via a single stringed instrument, static interference and oceans of space. 'Lie to Me' brings a piano refrain to the fore, wrapped in luscious ambience and more fragments of a conversation heard through the rain. 'Then Rely On Me' slowly develops out of a haunting atmosphere and finds an uneasy but strangely beautiful flow, before 'The Hungry Years' closes out the album as it started - floating in space.

The 26-year-old artist sees the album as a journey that should captivate but never impose itself on the listener. It ́s a gracious and neighborly invitation to dive in, get lost and explore its facets and peculiarities.

Pushing Movies is the collaborative project of Jeffrey Sfire and Dimitri SoEmotional. 
Half of Studio Luce, Dimitri gave light to Defender X along with Franz Scala from Slow Motion. You might remember of Jeffrey Sfire, the man behind the homonymous legendary hit from 2014. 
Thinking About You is a nostalgic piece of Italo-inspired synth-pop music. A driving groove, involving guitar bass chords, tingled with reverse effects, supports the bright and sexy synth lines. You are suddenly projected to the Italian Riviera sometime in 1980s; pulsating colorful disco lights are cheering up the dance floor on fire, Sabrina Salerno’s drinking champagne by the pool while Toni Esposito’s staring at the full moon wearing a flowered linen shirt. 
Lauer and Fort Romeau are on remix duty for the B-side of this 12”. If Fort Romeau’s interpretation will take you to ultra-space realms, Lauer seems to soundtrack a flashy bumper cars drive.

The fourth release of Selva Discos is one that has been bursting audiences into flames for a good while. Barbatuques, a well-known Brazilian group of body percussionists, adapted "Baianá" back in 2005 (first released on the "O Seguinte É Esse" album) and since then it became a staple of their concerts, getting crazy reactions from the children to the elder, being featured on soundtracks and sampled by trap duo Tropkillaz. The original is a modern folk song from Bahia composed by Maria do Carmo Barbosa, but it was the mouth harp sound and the stomping beat on the Barbatuques' arrangement that imprinted its trademark sound - like the first lightning strikes before the storm.

A couple of years ago, Jan Schulte, the german producer known for his taste for tropical drums (and also for using a few different aliases), heard the song and decided to add an extra punch to it for his DJ sets: more drums, taken from a library record of "drumdrops" (hence the title). In his appearance at 2017's Dekmantel Boiler Room stage as Bufiman, he dropped it to the crowd's awe, and it's been like that wherever its played - believe it, it's been tested all around.

So now for the first time "Baianá" is issued on vinyl. It marks the second volume of the BRASINGLES series, a new series on Selva Discos dedicated to releasing loud 12" singles with the original song on the A side and a rework on the B side, to please both the DJ and the listener.
