Dutch legend and Wolfskuil inner circle member Benny Rodrigues returns to the label for a fresh twelve. In the DJ booth he has no equal and established himself as one of the world’s premier selectors. Besides his ominous DJ skills, Benny has been making waves in the studio the last couple of years as well. Wether it be as ROD or under his own name, respected imprints worldwide have embraced and released his productions with eagerness. Klockworks, CLR, Drumcode and Desolat are just a few of the labels he can call home now.

Wolfskuil wouldn’t be Wolfskuil if we didn’t pick the ‘odd one’ of the litter. The Choice Is Mine might be the most freaked out & modulated excersize Benny has yet to unleash upon the world. No 4 bars in this mental trip are the same, ever evolving around a sequence that brings old 90’s warehouse techno to mind. 

A peaktime monster like this deserves a royal rework. Berghain resident, Dystopian head honcho and man of the moment Rødhåd happily agreed to give his own and unique vision on the original. The result is stunning, psychedelic and with a little unexpected surprise in the final part of his remix and compliments the original in a perfect. On probably the biggest festival stage in the world, the official poster boys of Tomorrowland, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike stepped up once again to deliver another huge mix on the world famous, eye-popping, jaw-dropping Main Stage - and it's all been recorded right here for your listening pleasure! 

Dimitri and Mike, who have over the past three years built up a huge alliance with the Tomorrowland creators, were one of the highlights of this year's festival with not one, but two headline appearances that also included their Smash The House Arena outfit going up against Chuckie and his Dirty Dutch superstars on the Sunday.

Zig was a very dear friend of my family. He was the first one to encourage me to make electronic music when i was a kid. He let me play around in his studio, and helped me make my first music ever. 

He was also a pioneer. His band "69" was amongst the first to use sinewave generators in music. This was in the 60s in germany.

The collaboration came about after both acts met up on the global festival circuit throughout 2012. Creative emails flew back and forth across Europe before the trio finally settled on the skeleton of ‘Mammoth’ as a potential new track. Speaking about the collaboration from his studio in Germany, MOGUAI said, “The track is not so far away from my own solo work. I said to myself, with the right mix this could be something huge, so we got into the studio together and at the end, we had the finished mix that you know now.”
 
A delicious slice of skewed electronica with ‘fist-pump’ written all over it, this titan of a track packs as much energy as it does technical class; crashing bass sections, warped synths and a huge breakdown combining the strengths of both production elements in one fell swoop. ‘Mammoth’ displays the extensive array of musical influences that these two world-renowned acts are constantly drawing their inspiration from, fusing everything together seamlessly for an anthem that will surely be an enormous smash in clubs and at festivals all over the world throughout 2013. As you might remember, the last keinemusik release has already seen some significant vocal support from friendly countries. Itʼs been a modus operandi, Adam Port is extending quite a bit on his kM018 edition. The friendly country being Leipzig for that matter and input coming courtesy of Here Is Why, the synthy Wave-Pop-moniker of Good Guy Mikesh. It is in fact an almost inevitable cooperation. There have been quite a few partynights, where crossfaders were shared and the Here Is Why sound has been celebrated within the keinemusik camp since day one.

On A1 youʼll find the clubversion of Here Is Whyʼs new single “Our Fate” in an unmistakable Port-ish condition. The beat stoically marching, escalating into a loop-excess, taking in some of the dirt that made Ports last tune “Black Noise” such an irresistible weapon. The lusciously chopped bassline is aiming in but one direction (the floor), the vocalpart evolves from craving in the background to full bloom within the break, until some field recordings and percussive ornaments throw your feet back into this fateful goose-step. A banger, again. 

The flipside consists of the original and the bonustrack “Tonight”. It is Here Is Whyʼs first single-release since their highly recommended full length debut “HRSY”. At the same time, itʼs their first works coming to life in full on band-mode. “Our Fate” is classic Here Is Why-material factoring in catching and heartwarming vocalhooks, gently orchestrated synth-tension and all those knowing 80ies hints. “Tonight” comes along in a way more spaced out mood, riding a wave, that might surge somewhere within the Atlantic and then pour out whether into the black nothing of the Galaxy or a subtly scored dancefloor.
