I dont often share recordings from my longer club sets but Open Ground is somewhere i instantly felt comfortable and I enjoyed these 6 hours so much that I felt compelled to share them with you.

Deftly merging her background in sound design with techno and its real world applications, Toxido Mask is a shadowy DJ/Producer who calls Berlin home and has been challenging the fringe of her craft for over a decade. Her fastidious selections and skill on the decks are nothing short of legendary, providing experiences that rumble and vibrate with mystical power, characterised by a raw intensity and fragile balance between ‘harmony and disharmony, clarity and distortion’, a testament to the transformative nature of the genre and her keen understanding of it. She’s a Tresor resident and curator of the OMM Transmission Podcast and party series, an outlet for further explorations into the murky world of this defiant sound. OPH is a French-born DJ and producer based in Berlin, recognized for his dedication to vinyl and his deep connection to the city’s techno culture. His journey began in Lyon, where he was active as a music journalist and ran a webzine focused on the local scene. In 2014 he moved to Berlin, a decisive step that allowed him to immerse himself in the city’s clubs and to start playing regularly.

Over the years, OPH has shaped his sound through record digging and a broad musical background, channeling these influences into sets that balance intensity and emotion. This approach has brought him to play acclaimed closing sets at Berghain and RSO.

Beyond his solo work, he performs alongside his close friend Chami in their Face 2 Face project. Together they have played at iconic venues such as Berghain, Bassiani and Womb in Japan.

In recent years, OPH has also turned to music production, adding a new layer to his artistic journey and opening the way for future projects that reflect his ever evolving vision.

Championing a sound both rugged to the core and honed to razor-sharp effect, the young Berlin-based artist is on a rising trajectory his recent 6-hour B2B set with living legend DJ Pete came to confirm in the most splendid way. Building upon an unmatched maturity behind the decks associated with a sixth sense for faultless track selections, Erik has been dishing out proper memorable vinyl-only sets with unfaltering flair and focus throughout the past few months, and his inaugural mix for RYC shall cement his position as a DJ and producer to keep a close eye on. Perhaps most known for his work as half of techno outfit Cassegrain, Istanbul native Hüseyin Evirgen has been active as solo artist since 2016 and making a name in his own right. His early classical training has taken a broader form in more recent years, a mashup of inspirations with strong mathematical current where simple ideas culminate in more complex and exponential compositions. Under the name Magna Pia, and adjunct label Arcing Seas his hulking techno has taken shape, and the imprint’s proven a platform for the publishing of his own work, Cassegrain’s and that of a small number of his close collaborators. His driving beats offer powerful and provocative moments mixed in with a clever spin on ambient that’s recognizable from a mile off, and constantly pushing what’s possible in sound to new and unforeseen heights. His 2019 album Daiauna was a return to roots record that incorporated his earlier training as piano player with the fluid electronics developed since, foraging too from his keen instinct for primal rhythms and high-brow symbolism. In the end it’s deeply physical, and proof of techno’s staying power as a medium for dance and social change. Bassiani Podcast 27 covers all these bases and more, an honest and striking addition to a body of work in constant flux. 4/4 magic from a true master.
