« J’ai enregistré ce set après mes 1 mois en Allemagne où je suis allée à mon premier Berghain et le festival XRDS avec un line up monumental en termes de qualité de sets en Belgique ça m'a beaucoup inspiré dans la sélection de mes tracks pour ce mix. J'ajoute qu'en ce moment je prends plaisir à découvrir des sons + bass music et je me permet d'en saupoudrer mes mix :p

DJ ANGEL draws from a variety of artistic influences, creating a sound that is both groovy and sensual, blending organic tones with deep, bouncy bass lines. By founding 2222 Agency, ANGEL aims to strengthen the queer community and support minorities within the scene.

“I recorded this set after spending a month in Germany, where I went to my first Berghain and the XRDS festival, which had a monumental lineup in terms of set quality in Belgium. It inspired me a lot in selecting my tracks for this mix. I’d also like to add that right now, I’m enjoying discovering more bass music, and I’m sprinkling some of it into my mixes

You can catch me on the 7th for my first Virage alongside Under Black Helmet and Tham—I’m super excited for this date! Also, on September 20th, for a special night with ROTTEN. I’m delighted by the invitation from this collective that promotes free, liberated, and safe partying, values that I support. These are the kinds of vibes where I love to mix—the flow carries you with the crowd, and it’s addictive.”

Following on from two unhinged standout EPs on UFO Inc., the Dutchman lays down a mischievous package of the weird and unexpected, fusing references to all sorts with a spring in his step and a donk on his drums. Never one to shy away from experimentation, his belief in the power of playfulness is balanced with a sincere appreciation for sound and a rigorous knowledge of technical production skill, and the results are, as always, complete bangers.

Jumping straight into the ring, opening track ‘What is What’ takes a slice of house music history and flips it onto a new level of bounce, setting the tone for what’s to come. ‘Musicmaker’ spins into a more headless space, laying down a cyclone of acid licks driven by a razor sharp hi-hat. ‘Penniless Tonight’ is all about the kick, marching swiftly into the warehouse whilst never losing that sense of melody. Rounding things off is a psychedelic slice of casio trance on ‘Level 10 (Princess vs Bison)’.
The Legend of the Princess is essential DJ Europarking - headsy, weird, and never without a touch of humour.
