This 5 track E.P. coolly connects the listener with JD's ear for soulful sonics, tinged with sub rumbling bass.

Having been hotly tipped as one to watch at the tail end of last year after the success of "88", and his productions for UK Hip Hop stars Piff Gang and ItsNate, there was always a high expectation of something really special to come in 2014. Opening up with "Ralph", it's evident that that special something has announced itself. Joining the dots between grime and instrumental hip hop, with a nod to the LA beats movement, the E.P. continues to dazzle throughout it's journey.

In a time when it's becoming difficult to discover truly unique music, JD. Reid delivers on all fronts. Don't sleep on this one!

After meeting LA native Guy Fridge for the last edition of Functions Of The Now, we move across the Atlantic to hit up Paul Purcell in Dublin, the man behind one of our favourite labels: Glacial Sound. On the cusp of its fifth release, it’s testament to Glacial Sound’s precision that with just a handful of records scattered across the last two years it’s become one of the most essential labels in the current grime landscape. Thus far it’s been home to the EPs that solidified Rabit and Murlo’s respective sounds as well as pushing them to the forefront of the modern grime scene, a white label containing Logos’ most potent dancefloor cuts to date and of course legendary MC Riko Dan’s underground anthem Black Dragons. On his FOTN Purcell has crafted a companion piece to the forthcoming Sharp Veins debut Inbox Island, whilst dropping some hints as to where the label might go next: you'll have to hunt though, as the tracklist is heavily redacted. In the last year, a mutant cacophony has funneled up from the region of Eurasia/Eastern Europe, simply known as WWWINGS. Comprised of members LIT INTERNET, LIT DAW, and LIT EYNE, this veiled trio has been using the World Wide Web as an avenue by which to fortify their ideas of self-distribution and collaboration - an extraordinary production unit among a global collective promoting anti-genre through fusion to further blur the definition of "club-appropriate" electronic music. After a handful of releases, WWWINGS unites with NYC's Purple Tape Pedigree imprint to co-present CHIMERA - a 6-tracker anarchic in both its sonics and cross-combination of talent.

Through relentless pace and unpredictable moments of aural assault, CHIMERA seems to simulate a head-on encounter with the mythological creature from which the EP gets its name. The title track cradles the senses in layered synth utopia until a cavernous pulse erupts through the long-drawn serenity, ripping the track into IDM-tinged warfare. "WYVERN" similarly shifts from shadows of a trance-like arpeggio cast over rolling ambience to a metallic dancehall riddim ornamented by ballroom crashes, ending in a freakish call/response of rap-worthy lumber and Lord-knows-what. "ZMEY" closes the side of originals with WWWINGS joined by Geng (PTP) and Bobby Johnson (Beyonce "7/11," Que "OG Bobby Johnson") - orchestrating a frantic Hellstorm of gut-wrenching noise and rattling sub bass. The 2nd half of the EP is armed with remixes ranging from a machine gun drum march by Eaves (PTP), to heavy-weightless chaos by Letta (Coyote Records), to a dembow-led frenzy as enforced by frequent WWWINGS collaborator, Endgame (PTP/Hyperdub). As the myth suggests, CHIMERA is a hybrid beast.

Bigasti was born in the eighties and developed his passion for music during his childhood and by playing the drums with his brother.
Without musical education but driven by his sheer interest in electronic music he started around producing in 2013 – an appreciated contrast to his daily routine in the office of a multinational cooperation. This was the year the project “Bigasti” was born. Since then, he spends a lot of his spare time producing.

After one year Bigasti released his first track in 2014 on the France based INLAB recordings. In 2016, he released a free track on the renowned German music community KLANGEXTASE, an EP on Electronical Reeds and an EP on Kuukou Records with his german friend and producer Moe Danger.

He takes his inspiration from nature and wild areas. His fascination of mystic nature sceneries is reflected in his dark melodies and mellow beats integrated in a unique atmospheric style.

In summer 2015 and together with his Swiss Friend Floloco he started Schirmchendrink, a quickly growing electronic underground music podcast and soon record label.

"After the development of simulation technologies up to their physical limit, a constant unavoidable phenomenon was discovered. It interfered with the interaction topology of any two variable agents within a given system. 

This phenomenon of unknown nature, which prevented two polar values ​​from complementation and mutual trans-cyclic transformation was named Veil. 

Veil creates boundaries within the relations of elements in any semi-physical system. Thus, it creates and conditions the variety of forms and phenomena, while also implying an interior realm, which implements its own ontology. There are strange clouds of information in this ontology, we called them Chrono Chambers – negative reality pockets or discarded realities. You may find more in the Veil Theory Log. 

The executive module of the meta-programming SAI-cores (Shifting Anti-Entropic Intelligence) found a way to access these realities. A project aimed at studying this phenomenon was conceived. It went under the code name Chronogears Initiative. 

After the eighth stage of the project launch, the systems encountered unforeseen difficulties. The Root Data Source collapsed and caused the Sphere to collide with [transmission error]
