I started DJing because I wanted to help people through music. Growing up in Japan, I faced bullying and struggled with mental health, but music became my escape and healing tool. When I moved to Perth, I faced new challenges, including a language barrier, but music once again gave me a sense of belonging and purpose. This inspired me to become a DJ, with the goal of bringing joy to others and creating positive, unforgettable experiences.

Introducing Dj Soundboi, a dynamic force in the music industry, blending beats with purpose and passion. Born and raised in a vibrant multicultural community, Soundboi brings a unique perspective to the decks as a BIPOC queer nonbinary DJ.

From an early age, Soundboi was drawn to the power of music as a form of expression and liberation. Growing up immersed in diverse cultural influences, their sound reflects a rich tapestry of musical genres, from reggae, amapiano and soca to hip-hop, jazz and R&B/soul infused with electronic rhythms and infectious energy.

As a queer artist, Soundboi embraces their identity with pride, using their platform to amplify marginalized voices and advocate for inclusivity and diversity within the music industry. Through their electrifying sets and curated playlists, they create spaces where people of all backgrounds can come together, celebrate their identities, and feel empowered to be their authentic selves.
