In this episode, HC4US hosts Dr. Jerome Hoffman where he discusses his experience in our broken healthcare system and his fight for healthcare justice.

Dr. Jerome Hoffman has a prolific career in medicine as an emergency physician, professor, toxicologist, researcher and lecturer.  He is the recipient of numerous awards and has been the keynote speaker for meetings on five continents.  Currently active in the Santa Barbara chapter of Physicians for a National Health Program, Dr. Hoffman is also the California Coordinator of Students for a National Health Program.

Your hosts Erica Feresten (http://hc4us.org) and Gina Viola (http://hc4us.org/bod-gina), Chair and Co-Chair of HC4US travelled to Cuba with a delegation of 60 people, bringing suitcases of medical supplies and medicine! Erica and Gina are eager to tell us about the ongoing blockade by the United States and how it affects the health and daily life of Cubans leading them to respond in resourceful ways. Interviews with a Cuban doctor and a patient will also be shared. Listen to learn unique aspects of the Cuban health care system and what we can learn from the people of Cuba.
