First Female MC Soloist! Hip Hop Matriarch. Historian. Flyerologist. South Bronx Pioneer. Harlem born and raised. As a teen, I lived in the South Bronx and became an Emcee during the birth of Hip Hop! Major DJ influences in my neighborhood who hosted park jams and parties were DJ Kool Herc, GrandMaster Flash and Grand Wizzard Theodore! As a child, I attended church regularly and sung lead in the choir, so my roots also run deep in Gospel music! In 1984, I appeared in the iconic movie Beat Street with Us Girls.
