"Symphony Soldier" is the latest album from The CAB, produced by John Feldman who co-writes with Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, David Hodges, and Martin Johnson of Boys Like Girls. That's right. I started it just as something fun to mess around with and four hours later, emerged from an unexpectedly wonderful and deeply cathartic trance. I can't believe how beautiful this song is. It makes me want to cry. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I've enjoyed recording it.

We Found Love (Rihanna Ft Calvin Harris Cover)

I thought Friday I'm in love would be the perfect track to end our cover week and a half. Hope you guys like it! If you're not familiar with the original, definitely look up the video. It's the best party ever.
I want to dedicate our final cover to Katharina Lange. She's last month's Team Wakey contest winner. If you guys aren't familiar with Team Wakey, it's a great way to be more involved in what we do. As you guys all know and have seen from these covers, the more involved you become, the more success we have. I love this cover. I've played it more live than most songs I've actually written. I love the moment, somewhere about three lines in, when the audience figures out what I'm playing and starts to cheer. A little trivia, the song was originally written and performed by Robert Hazard, but it was Cindy Lauper's cover that made the song famous. A few years after we released this I met a friend of Hazard's in a bar in Philly. He told me that Robert had passed a few years before, but it was nice to hear his friend's song the way it was intended to be sung. Still gives me chill bumps to think about.

Wakey!Wakey! Wednesdays 7: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun [Cyndi Lauper Cover]

It was cool to see today that Brooklyn was everyone's favorite track off the War Sweater EP, because I've always loved that song so much. I still remember exactly where I was when I wrote it. There was a fire escape on the other side of a window that was sealed shut. How deep is that? That day feels like a lifetime ago now. Most nights on tour at soundtrack when we check vocals I sing that chorus. And no matter where in the world we are that day, I picture my apartment back home in Brooklyn, and think how lucky I am to have come so far.
