Health is the first single from everybody’s new favourite band Parsnip. The track is lifted from their debut self-titled 7”, which will be out November 10th on Anti Fade, just in time for a national tour of Australia as part of Gizzfest. Parsnip are four girls from Melbourne whom have only been around for a year, but have certainly kept themselves busy during that time, playing plenty of great shows in Melbourne, as well as the rest of Australia on many stellar lineups. With musical trends always changing and evolving around us, it’s a testament to the real quality of The Shapeshifters to have sustained a successful career in house music for over 10 years now. After already lighting up dance floors with a recut package of their own anthem ‘Lola’s Theme’ earlier this year, and with Max now absent from production & DJ duties, Simon steps out on his own and returns to Glitterbox Recordings with the brilliant ‘When Love Breaks Down’. This masterpiece has it all; from the funky bassline to joyous brass sections, topped up by warm Rhodes piano and coated in sensuous vocals from London’s own Teni Tinks. ‘When Love Breaks Down’ is another timeless track which solidifies The Shapeshifters place as out-and-out legends of the scene.

'Let Your Dogtooth Grow' was once again recorded and produced by the legend that is Marta 'bueno' Salogni. It features our first (but certainly not last) outing with the Mini Moog, which oscillates freely throughout the closing minute of the track. Furthermore, the outro to the song becomes a melting-pot of our influences, combining guitar riffs reminiscent of Turkish psychedelic musician, Mustafa Ozkent with the Moog Synth riff which is redolent of Donna Summer's 'I Feel Love'. 
 
Taking influence from Lanthimos’ abstruse, fictitious world where kids are brainwashed into thinking that they are confined within the boundaries of their household until their ‘Dogtooth’ falls out, the lyrics discuss how in reality, people our age face similar (albeit less bizarre) forms of oppression. 
Whilst we’re much more than a stones throw away from knocking our teeth out in order to break from the omnipresent restrictions us teenagers and young adults face, it’s still something that really bugs us as a ‘young band’! When are you gonna let us out of the house?

Indiana-born, everywhere-based singer-songwriter Peter Oren possesses a remarkable singing voice, low and deep and richly textured: as solid as a glacier, as big as a mountain. It rumbles in your conscience, a righteous sound that marks him as an artist for our tumultuous times, when sanity seems absent from popular discussions. The songs on Anthropocene are direct and poetic, outraged and measured, taking in the entire fucked-up world from his fixed point of view. 

Oren attracted the attention of Ken Coomer, the former drummer for Wilco and a producer in Nashville. Together, the duo assembled a backing band featuring some of the city’s finest session musicians, including keyboard player Michael Webb (John Fogerty), singer Maureen Murphy (Zac Brown Band), and guitarists Sam Wilson (Sons of Bill) and Laur Jaomets (Sturgill Simpson). On Anthropocene they provide stately backing for Oren’s songs, with drips of pedal steel and quivers of strings subtly reinforcing his observations about the state of the world.

New to the NAAR stable, In:State & Guili make their debut in stunning style. Visitoz is a straight forward techno affair, as bumping as it is surprising. Using a deceptively simple gated arp and horn to dazzlingly complex effect. 
The track is potentially the most peak time NAAR has gone yet, and it's an incredibly welcome addition to their canon. On remix duty Lauer takes a hold of the main arpeggio and turns it monstrous in the style of Liasions Dangeruese, yet balances this with his trademark lightness of touch and his ear for a heart wrenching synth line, creating an instant classic that feels like it was beamed straight in from 1986. 
"Plus 1" has been sent from a parallel dimension where the evolution of music took a turn so different that Proto Garage stands where Proto House should be. The track has the step and swagger of the most compelling end of the 2 step movement, but balances that with the surprising naivete and earnestness found in Italo, EBM and early forays from Chicago. Finishing things off, Lizards return to the label for a welcome encore following last years success with their 1st release, Tanni.
