I'm a guitarist who plays a variety of genres, but mainly acoustic fingerstyle, and a mix of originals and covers.

Lesley Rankine is Ruby.  She began her career as the lead singer of noise band Silverfish in London, leaving after the release of the album Organ Fan (1993, Creation Records).  She was involved in Pigface, the loose knit industrial noise collaboration of Trent Reznor and Martin Atkins of PIL. She subsequently moved to Seattle and joined producer Mark Walk, a former bandmate in Pigface, to create her solo project, Ruby.  They decided on the name Ruby, as it was shared by both of their grandmothers.

Ruby’s first release was the acclaimed electronic-downtempo-trip hop album Salt Peter (1995, Sony/Work).  The collection was recorded entirely digitally, which was still quite ground-breaking at that time, employing computers without a band, though she did perform with a band in concert. The single “Tiny Meat” was a Modern Rock hit, with heavy support from major market alternative radio stations.  The remix album, Revenge, The Sweetest Fruit followed in (1996). Ruby's second and last album was Short-staffed at the GenePool (2001), followed by Altered and Proud, the Short Staffed Remixes (2001).

Lesley’s other notable projects include an appearance on Monster Voodoo Machine's Suffersystem (1994, Chicago Trax), which won a Juno Award; a duet with Tom Jones on a cover of the “Kung Fu Fighting” for the Jackie Chan movie, Supercop, and a Mountain Dew commercial appearance singing "Thank Heaven for Little Girls", directed by Samuel Bayer.

2013 marked a renaissance for Ruby, taking touches from the past to emerge anew in the present.  Always progressive with the use of technology in music, Lesley has more ways to play than ever.  Her process has revealed regular audio and visual releases, collaborations, and connections with new fans and longtime followers.

Scottish-born, Chicago-based musician and author. Connelly participated in the legendary WaxTrax/Chicago industrial music scene in the late 80s/early 90s before moving off in his own direction, blending songs, sounds and ideas into something uniquely his own.

Influenced by the epic and futuristic sounds of Muse, progressive elements of bands like Biffy Clyro, and the driving alt-rock of Foo Fighters - Vianova writes massive songs meant to be felt both lyrically and musically. The band is exclusively releasing singles (for now), allowing them to quickly mold their sound to different styles and influences in their music.

Vianova began to take shape in the winter of 2013 when long-time friends Eric Morgan (Guitar & Vocals) and Diego Villasmil (Bass & Vocals) decided to branch off from their previous band, Antaean. After working on several demos, they finally brought “Tie It Down” and “The Fall” into John Schwab Recording Studios, where they worked with Producer and Head Engineer Colin Coffey. Originally intended to be a studio project, the band worked their first two singles with other local musicians (Adam Gilbert - Starset, Brian McGuckin and Jef Shaffer - The Lovebenders). In the summer of 2014, Andrew Kissel (Drums) was introduced to the band through a mutual friend, solidifying the lineup.

In 2015 Vianova had their 2 most recent singles “A Night with Evelyn” and “Into the Night” featured on 99.7 the Blitz, and on July 1st the band performed their debut show at Skully’s Music Diner to a crowd of over 100 people on a Wednesday night.

Starting 2016 the band did its first 3-stop tour, playing venues in Indianapolis and Cincinnati. This same year Vianova was invited to the first Local Stuff Showcase hosted by 99.7 The Blitz featuring Novallo, New Haven and Ever Burning Bright. More recently the band won the CD1025 Day local contest, granting them to play to a sold-out crowd at Express Live! next to internationals acts such as The Kills and The Joy Formidable.
