It’s been a while now since dance music stopped suddenly and also it’s been a while since the Exium duo released stuff here at home.

Héctor and Valentin have been busy in their studios during these uncertain days, extracting the best out of their minds and tools to create this four tracker.
If you are familiar with the Exium sound over the years, you can feel here a sort of comeback to their primitive roots.
The sound is harsher, more violent, the components are a chosen few but well standing in the mix, the rhythms are broken and twisted. Nothing easy for the ear.

If you push the boundaries like they do, there’s still hope in techno as a constantly new and risky journey. Totally the opposite of cloning what is done.

There is no doubt that the native Detroiter Jeff Mills, as "The Wizard", put his own mark on the Cologne Psycho Thrill club-nights and thus the entire West German Rhine Area in terms of Techno in the years 1991-2007 through his innumerable appearances in the Cologne ClubEvent institution. Mills' track "Mosainga", which was given to Claus Bachor in 1996 for publication on his own label, also played a significant part in this well beyond the 2000’s. In 1997 for the first time (unofficially) released in advance via Roland Caspers Essence label on a "Psycho Thrill EP" White-Label limited to 500 copies, Mosainga finally appeared remastered in 2004 on Psycho Thrill's own "Motor City Dayz Vol.1" (PTNE 2111) compilation including a DJ-friendly bonus loop and then finally made its way straight into the clubs of the world. The track then received renewed attention beyond its natural decay value in the Cologne BNKR years (2011-2016), which were deeply shaped by Psycho Thrill itself for Cologne's nitelife, in which the Cologne label completely redefined the entire Techno culture of the Dome metropolis in its own way 2 be propelled forward once again. 

The desire quickly arose to give the relatively short running time of the original track of around 4 minutes a more extended club play character, which with the longer running time corresponded even more to the dark, monotonously driving sound philosophy of the old WKII bunker walls. The two Psycho Thrill "BNKR boyz" Claus Bachor and Chris Baumann therefore re-edited the track in 2 slightly different, powerful variants, and so "Mosainga" succeeded in becoming a downright hypnotic Future Club Classic, whose bass always hit the audience in sheer quality Club euphoria drove. Berlin's own Milton Bradley, a friend of the family who was also often present at the BNKR turntables, subsequently developed his own two Roland TB303-affine "ALIEN RAIN" remixes, which stripped "Mosainga" down to its basic structure. And the two new versions further created a floor-effective 90’s Acid-House hallucination feel to keep it movin' when the crowd said "Go!". 

Now the occasion of the threshold on the label’s 29th to 30th anniversary, is exactly the right time to press the track’s interpretations nowadays on vinyl for posterity. Where the Psycho Thrill BNKR (somewhere in Cologne ...) and Mills' legendary Vinyl sets are long gone, "Mosainga" is “written in stone” so to  speak, as a timeless, powerful club-anthem, especially in the current Psycho Thrill residency at Düsseldorf's famous GOLZHEIM Club. And a true masterpiece of top-notch quality "forever and one day", which still continues to leave time and space Mills unmistakably typical behind itself.

He went in the studio recording straight away, using his instinct and not overthinking the result. These are his ‘First Intentions’. ‘Postures Digitales’ and ‘Postures Sociales’ are two parts of the same story, people pretending on social media and the emptiness behind it. ‘Leaving Cities’ is a fresh walk in the countryside away from the digital pressure.

Szermi - mimo niewiele ponad rocznego stażu na wrocławskiej scenie, zdążył w tym czasie dołączyć do tamtejszych składów kolektywu Tech-room 29 oraz Transformatora. Muzycznie lubi improwizować i grać co w danej chwili odpowiada jego nastrojowi, jednak najlepiej odnajduje się we wprowadzaniu słuchaczy w trans hipnotycznymi, tribalowymi dźwiękami oraz rozbudzaniu ich za pomocą energicznego, często funky groovu.
Prywatnie natomiast wielbiciel słownych żartów oraz fan koszykówki - kiedyś nawet zawodnik jednej z takich drużyn.

Secret Sound Sessions #33- Szermi

After the White Rats trilogy behemoth that came out on Lies records, Oliver Ho’s Broken English Club returns with a startling album exploring technology, reality, spirit and the self.
Coming on Oliver’s own Death & Leisure imprint, The Artificial Animal is a no compromise journey through raw data noise, feedback, raw dubby techno and experimental cut-up sound pieces.
Throughout the 12 track album there is a sense of overload and electronic fevered hallucination counterbalanced with primitive rhythmic machine music.
The pulsating low throbbing bass and soaring synths of Ersatz mark the beginning, the drama slowly builds with caustic noise and arabic trumpet calls. This is closely followed by the stuttering sound collage of The Artificial Animal. Concepts of spirit, artifice and technology are the inspiration for the chopped up clips of tv show exorcisms, inter spliced with feedback and static, creating a bewildering kaleidoscope of sounds and texture.
After this shocking introduction we jump straight in with Snub, a heavy relentless acid track with roaring distorted drones, that constantly moves higher and higher in intensity. The Slow Bleed follows with dubby warehouse beats and metallic screeches echoing in the background. Concrete is next with broken scrap metal rhythms and melancholic synths which bring to mind early Apex Twin. Next is Sink, a barrage of undulating spiralling synths, white noise and mashed down-tuned vocal take everything into an experimental direction. Following this, Neck brings Warp style staccato bleeps and broken beats, creating a kind of plastic funk. Collapse brings atonal synths and sea sick shimmering chords over heavy drums. Blood and Wire takes a turn into ambient synth atmospheres punctuated by heavy blasts of death metal screams and white noise, creating a feeling that Is both ethereal and maximalist in its level of intense noise.
Next is Grey Sands, a dusty atmospheric groove with sparse squarewave bass stabs and industrial high drones. The album moves towards its end with Pervert and its cycling knife sharp buzzing synth drops, raw data noise and psychotic low vocals. The final goodbye is World of Fire, moody ambient atmospheres with glitch slow motion gabba bass drums and the repeated vocal phrase, “Everything’s on fire”. In its entirety the album is a dense collection of sounds and rhythms, theres nothing here for posers, techno fashion victims and party tourists, this music is for obsessives looking for noise and raw broken soul.
