Kittylung is the solo project from Maxwell Reikosky from Seattle, WA. The majority of this album was made while he was living in Nairobi, Kenya. 

"Emotional sound palettes crafted on my Nairobi balcony, with a cheap guitar bought from the local mall. Some days there was smog and others I could hear distant singing. I would reflect on how our surroundings are ever in flux and contrast, shedding diverse signals in a landscape that is uncannily whole. How we feel in any moment is contradictory as we are pulled by the healing, pain, tranquility, and chaos that runs through everything. The result is more intuitive than articulable. These songs are projections of that process, and therefore build on the environment from which they came."

Over the past six years Canadian producer Bradley Deschamps has rapidly accumulated an impressive back catalogue of intricate textural drone and ambient compositions under his @anthene project. Deschamps has released several times on equally hard-working and heavy favourite of ours @vaagner and @archives-5 as well as curating his own imprint @polarseasrecordings.

A warm selection of soothing drone pieces blended with expanded folk numbers, Inchmix068 generates vivid summer tones, akin to witnessing dusk in the countryside, morning swims in the lake and other gentle glances.

Neglect (Tucson-based artist and musician Joseph Valentino) is an ambient music project that chronicles the beauty of the American Southwest and Pacific Northwest with sparse, elliptical melodic fragments on guitar and synths. Influenced by sources as diverse as dub, detroit techno, 90's IDM, and abstracted sound art, Valentino's music mines the deep emotional resonance and meditative quality of the endlessly repeating ostinato melody, like Wolfgang Voight's Gas project, Stars Of The Lid, and William Basinski.

About The Mix:
"This mix contains a collection of pieces by artists from all over the world, from my hometown Australia to Mongolia to Iceland. I wanted to acknowledge pioneers like Sigur Ros and Nils Frahm in the ambient/modern classical world that have influenced me in the past as well as emerging acts like Alistair Sung and BPMoore that inspire me today. As a composer for film/TV/advertising, I also wanted to share artists I've discovered through movies and TV such as Nicholas Britell, Colin Stetson, Roomful of Teeth. Hearing Roomful of Teeth live at St Giles Church (Barbican) in 2018 was one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I even discovered the track by Vessel through the movie trailer for the Korean film, The Handmaiden. Thanks for inviting me to create this mix."

Alex Smalley aka Olan Mill returns to Shimmering Moods with his new album. 

Captured throughout 2019, Citation Index was layered together from recordings of guitar, synthesiser and voice. 
Energy has become a theme in my work. The albums titles and artwork are based around common methods of energy production. It seems our mastery of physical energy has accelerated many things, so the slow movements of this album aim to counter that in some small way.
