This is a story about curiosity.
When wandering through nature, I quickly find out that I am in no control. This is essential because then I can freely indulge in its spontaneity, revelation, fruitfulness and those mystical shows which nature performing for us. I am just a sole floating observer with a open-minded devotion to dive into the pores and immerse into details and meanings.
My way was to consciously trip on the nature and let the unconscious do the work. By that I was sure that I don’t know anything and was ready to curiously absorb all the magnificent moving distractions. And that’s how the album was unfolding - I just wander and the wonders open up themselves.
The whole journey was beautifully exhausting, filled with various versatile living beings “who do not sweat and whine about their condition, nor lie awake in the dark and weep for their sins”.

The ninth edition of the #Sonogramma podcast, dedicated to ambient, experimental and electronic music, offers a mix from the curator of the Simphonic Silence Inside label, Ilya Symphocat, composed of tracks previously released on SSI. The sound compilation includes the works of such musicians and projects as Mono Tape, Sistal, Notnotice, Abjective, SAM, Waveskania, Retablo, CH40 and the works by the author of the mix.
Simphonic Silence Inside (SSI) was founded in 2007 in the southern city Rostov-on-Don. It combines the qualities of a community that unites creative people, develops the local scene and invites foreign artists, a promo group that creates audio-visual concerts, festivals, show cases, as well as a digital label that publishes albums on streaming services from musicians from all over Russia. The social vector of SSI remains unchanged to this days. The label moved to St. Petersburg and is based in the art center “Pushkinskaya-10”, holding concerts of ambient and experimental music in the walls of the Museum of Sound / ESG-21.

Captured throughout 2019, Citation Index was layered together from recordings of guitar, synthesiser and voice. 
Energy has become a theme in my work. The albums titles and artwork are based around common methods of energy production. It seems our mastery of physical energy has accelerated many things, so the slow movements of this album aim to counter that in some small way.

This album is essentially an exploration of the relationships between the sub-atomic, the body, and the atmosphere. It has been coming into fruition over the past year as a I moved to Montreal, in many spaces where I found refuge during this transition: places I was cat sitting, my bed, a piano in a pink room, a jam space that I lived in, my new pray-mantis green home, and here as I undergo radium treatment in Jachymov, Czech Republic. As a woman living with several severe auto-immune diseases, I turn to sound when I am unable to move to bring me back into my body with slow gentle movement and acceptance. This album is a call for slowness in a time where things move much too fast.
