These are the kinds of notes that pass through me and into me.

Like a drop in the ocean, this track has a pressing delicacy capable of disrupting, with the slightest of the movement, the impetuosity of the sea. The piano notes seem to sing an ancestral story that reaches directly to the listener's soul. A state of uncertainty, between the cheerful and the mournful, permeates the entire experience of the track.

3.32.39 is the 4th track in preview of Plume, my album on vinyl, that will be released October 16th.
The title is the exact hour in which, on April 6th 2009, an earthquake occured in L'Aquila, destroying  part of the city and changing its very soul forever.
The track is meant to be an homage to the victims memory and, at the same time, a hymn to life for whom has survived and found the strength to react.

Classically trained pianist and composer Carlos Cipa returns with Sculptures, a piano-solo mini-album, right in time for some calm and quiet winter days.
Most of 2017, Carlos has been working on his next full-length album, a colourful record combining piano and other key instruments with a variety of orchestral instruments and electronically processed soundscapes, which will see the light of day in 2018. In between writing scores for musicians and long recording sessions, he often found himself sitting on his upright piano late at night, messing around with simple melodies or patterns as a distraction.
Recorded in his very own Beatschuppen Studio over a couple of days in November, Sculptures brings a few of these raw, intimate song fractures to life and places them alongside three brand mark pieces of Carlos Cipa’s second album, re-recorded on his peculiar Upright piano for the first time.

In this latest entry of solo piano recordings, I pay tribute to my dear friend, Julien Marchal, by playing a slight rework of his "Insight I" piece from his similarly titled debut album "INSIGHT" released back in 2015. This was actually recorded back in 2016, while I was procrastinating with "Unhinged". The photo is from May of 2018, of me playing alongside Julien who is using Instagram Live to stream his new music.
