'Adrift' appears in ‘First Song’ from Spotify, who have partnered with The Starkey Hearing Foundation to help bring hearing and music to people in Puerto Princesa, Philippines living with hearing loss.

‘First Song’ tells the stories of Eugene, Jessa Mae and Isagani, as they share their experiences hearing music for the first time after receiving their hearing aids.

Written and recorded over 2 days in South East London, ‘Carried’ is a collaborative EP from violinist Fiona Brice, cellist Tony Woollard and composer/producer Jim Perkins. The project began as an antidote to the sometimes laborious academic tradition of composing, scoring, revising, rehearsing, recording, editing and producing music. 

Each piece was created without score or prior preparation, relying on instinct, discussion and collaboration, with a focus on capturing the energy and essence of an idea whilst it is still fresh. 

The result is a suite of 5 emotive, meditative and distinctive pieces combining drones, elements of minimalism and chamber music with textured harmonics and the occasional melodic line. ‘Carried’ honours the spontaneity and spark of a new idea and nurtures it, creating a deeply engaging and cinematic sound.

Philip G Anderson's demo is a dressed mixed using the sounds from Sonespheres 3 - Current blended with other libraries.

Sonespheres is a series of uniquely sound-designed atmospheric synths, textural pads, evolving soundscapes, nuanced drones and tonal ambiences for Native Instruments Kontakt. Each volume explores film and tv composer and long-time Soundiron collaborator Blake Ewing's unique creative vision, delving into deeper aesthetics, stylized niches and specialty production concepts. This volume 3 Current was crafted using orchestral strings, harp, piano, and other custom samples, with a full arsenal of essential user controls to unlock an endless sea of creative inspiration.

Philip G Anderson - Cassini (Dressed) - Soundiron Sonespheres 03 Current

Recorded at Oslo’s iconic Rainbow Studio with engineer Jan Erik Kongshaug, the record features works by both Howard and bassist Jonathan Zion (Anton Delecca Quartet, Lior, Ian Moss). Joined by drummer Daniel Farrugia (Tin Pan Orange, Julia Stone, Magnolia), the trio’s minimalist aesthetic blends elements of improvised and popular music.

It brings us so much joy to release new music into the world, especially when it's as fun and downright groovy as BLOMMA's first record. The collaborative project pairs @philipdanielpiano and @jacob-pavek, two musicians and composers who live 600 kms apart in the American midwest and met true 21st century style: on Instagram. Their friendship blossomed quickly, leaving their heavy-hearted melancholic solo projects behind for more luminous and upbeat territories. 

In this piece, Daniel's tender melody on felted piano is traded and harmonized with Pavek's vintage synths, with everything sitting against a backdrop of slow moving strings and ambient electronics. According to @blommamusic, the end result "sounds like the neon lights shining on a chamber orchestra." The record is out now on all digital platforms, and we'd love for you to give it a spin !

Always in search of new flavor from around the world, we turn towards Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) based musician Euseng Seto, who records under a pseudonym flica for Akira Kosemura's Japanese Schole imprint. For his latest Tapsskog EP, flica delivers a set of four gentle vignettes that traverse a journey towards a "place far north, at a suburb filled with snow." It's a tender and dreamy walk through the lonely woods, somewhere between a fantasy and a nostalgic memory, recalling the warmth of breath, the shuffling of feet, and the lullaby of a sunset. Seto relies on the simplicity of acoustic instruments to compose gentle electronica that quietly rises into the sky with the sparks of embers. It's an enchanting mood, which I am too delighted to share with you with this exclusive track premiere.
