These two were so great. ddwy are making brilliant music right now and they showed their influences when they came down to play an hour of music for us. Very much a blissed out sound running from Underworld to slowed down Hypnotone and on... It was such a nice session and they nailed it.

We are kicking off the series after a short summer break with someone who we hold very dearly. We have always seen Basso as an ominous idol, someone whose Discogs -Ratings we used as a firm guidance when discovering new records on Germany’s flea markets. His very own Growing Bin is arguably one of the most consistently excellent vinyl-shops, Youtube-Channels and record-labels out there. 

Now about a year ago, the role-model became a friend, with who we share a subtle sense of humour and a refined taste for the perfectly placed “cheesy-yet-amazing”. This sentiment was somewhat reflected in a mix we did for Basso back then, and he brings it to perfection in this contribution to 5918mins. In his own words, he often used to work place-specific as an artist and tried to do this mix specifically for us, while staying true to himself. So what is the truth of Basso himself? Maybe it is just that he’s a bin – albeit a growing one. And what could be better than that?
