Next up in our Record Club Guest Mix series are Sanctuary, the moniker of Ben and Liam, a DJ duo from Australia who have been living in Berlin for the past 9 years. You may be familiar with their 'Life Classics' project. It started as an output for their own edits then later branched out into a mix series and club residency at OHM in Berlin.

Their mix landed in our inbox and from the get-go we knew it was destined for the Record Club series. Covering many spectrums of soul, it masterfully glides through tempos and unleashes a quiet storm inside you. Not ones to fear a vocal, it's stuffed full of soaring voices, sweet strings and the tightest grooves. An extended blend done right!

The guys pulled from of a couple of record bags and served it up on 1210’s at their Berlin base. As they described it "back to back burgers, boozas and records all the way". 

The mix is loaded with many of their favourites and a few dusty ones from the back of their shelves. Look out for cuts from Reggie S, Stage Coach, Edwynn Page and Herby Charles. It's packed with winners, some you knew, some you do now. A real steppers' delight.

Based out of Zurich, he's someone we've followed for a long time and his DrumMachines mixes are something we particularly look forward to appearing in the feed.

When asking Mikael about digs, genres, music and so on. He went on to say that he only sees '2 kinds of music - good or bad' that's irrespective of genres as there's too much good bag stuff to be discovered everywhere which in turn allows him play stuff from all over.

This mix focuses more on lovers, soul and street soul while keeping that machinedrum edge. Enjoy :)

Lately there’s been a lot of old DJ Harvey and Daniele Baldelli mixes in my ears, so naturally I’ve been digging for that lush, spacey Balearic sound. From there I’ve zig zagged between late 80s NYC, early 90s Ibiza, and the cosmic birthplace that was mid 70s Italy. 

When I’m not digging, I geek out hard and read, watch docos, and listen to podcasts on music history. The stories behind the Loft, Studio 54, and iconic beachside clubs like
“Baia Degli Angeli” (Bay of Angels) are pure gold and they helped pave the way for the cosmic wave we’re still riding today. This mix is my salute to that era, along with some more recent releases for good measure. Enjoy!

Host of 'Das Lebendige Radio' (formerly on rtm.fm) he popped into our inbox with the following message and mix -

'About six months ago I picked up a green record at a small art and vintage gallery in Pimlico. On the back of the sleeve I read that it was the culmination of a two day workshop focused on the exploration of hip-hop. The twist: The workshop happened at ETAT, a community group for the elderly.

The gallery was full with locals celebrating the opening of its latest art exhibition. As I went up to pay, someone shouted: 'Thats my record!'. A bubbly lady, probably in her 70s walked up to me and took the record out of my hand to proclaim to everyone in the small room: 'This is my record! I'm a rapper!'

This mix is inspired by a chance encounter with a chance piece of art. The record is a loose collage of even looser interpretations of hip-hop. It was the perfect start, middle and end point to explore my own - very loose - interpretation of the genre.'

After cycling across Japan for two months, Dutch music enthusiast and collector Spolia shares Furimuite Mita Kawa - a mix built entirely from Japanese records spanning 1973 to 1998. Covering a broad range of genres, from new age and synth pop to electronic, the mix reflects the records discovered along the way and the music that kept him company during the trip.
