After previous releases on Futureboogie, Man Make Music, Sonar Kollectiv, and Kerri Chandler's MadTech label, Moscow producer Phil Gerus pops up on Brooklyn's Bastard Jazz Recordings with a 4 track EP of nasty Modern Funk meets House Music entitled the "Nothing Twice" EP. Touching on driving Boogie fueled business ("Better Think Twice") , low slung pulsing funk of ("Don't You Know I Need You"), shimmering disco vibes ("My Soul Eats Twice"), and a bit of a melancholy strut ("I Need You More Than He") - the songs are strung together my deft vocal chops sung live in the studio - no samples here!
