Shammas was born to a musical family at Thalassery, Kerala, India.

"Oliyath" & "TC Maliyakkal" are the prominent muslim families at Thalassery, Kerala.  

Shammas is grandson of Late TC Ummer who was a renowned musician at Thalassery. TC Ummer along with other musicians of his times had run a Music group called "Janatha Sangeetha Sabha" at Thalassery. TC Ummer was considered as a guru by all the other member of the group. The group consisted of renowned Malayalam music directors like AT Ummer, Kannur Rajan, Vadakara Krishnadas etc.

Though Shammas has the musical gift inherited through his family bloodline, he never did any formal education in music, nor did he continue the path of his grandfather.

He is also a good sportsperson. He represented Kerala State Under-13 Cricket Team during 1990-1991 and also represented Kerala State Under-14 Table Tennis Team during 1992-1993. His love towards sports is given justice with his contribution towards Beatrice Sports Club of which he is currently an executive member.

Today he is living his life as a Senior Staff Software Engineer working with IBM at Bangalore. But his love towards music never died.

He is a Mukesh Chand Mathur and Talat Mahmood Fan!... Ghazal & Hindustani Music lover too... 

Personally for him Old Hindi Melodies are the best music in this world... Music Directors like Ghulam Muhammed, S.D. Burman, Naushad, C. Ramachandra, Anil Biswas, Chitragupta, Ravi, Shankar Jaikishan, Madan Mohan, Kalyanji Anandji, Roshan,... and all others during the golden era of Hindi Music are his favorites... 

He feels that unfortunately Hindi Music today is moving more towards western style of Harmonic music rather than the Melodious music which is truly Indian. He hopes the olden styles will come back again... hopes there will be another Mohammed Rafi, another Mukesh, another Talat Mahmood !. 

Personally he believes that musicians should start composing music based on singers, like how Anil Biswasji used to create music which was purely Talat saab style, for the golden era style to come back again. Also the trend used to be creating music for the lyrics rather than writing lyrics for the music which he feels is the style nowadays...! 

He wants the current generation to be familiar with the wonderful melodies that exist in Indian music. He wants to do his share of contribution towards keeping the olden golden melodies alive.

DJ TaZ is a powerful, energetic up and coming talent from Texas who has been in the scene for about 7 years.  His sound ranges from sexy, dance floor friendly vocal house tunes, to harder, speaker jilting electro breakbeat tracks through to underground progressive beats.  DJ TaZ’s musical taste is broad and he works this to his advantage by incorporating different styles together putting them into one. 

My Father has always been in the music world. He sang his whole life. He plays numerous instruments and always tried his best to be the best at everything. Ever since i was little i have always wanted to be just like him. My Mother always supported me in everything that i wanted to do. She always gave me the hope and still does. She knows that i can do it if i try. Thanks Mom. My Brother is the one that brought me into this DJ world. He was the first person to introduce me to Techno, Trance and House Music. And from then on I wanted to master the art of Mixing.

I bought my own decks in 2005 which I used to spend hours mastering the art of mixing. I was a big fan of Tiesto and Bad Boy Bill and I thought what it would be to be like them.  I never gave up my dream to be the best DJ that I could be and I am still pursuing my passion. I want to thank my brother (Imran) for being my biggest influence in DJ world.As I mentioned before He was the first one to bring me into Techno, Trance and House music. Ever since then I was addicted to the beat and everything comes along with it. I have played in Home Night Clubs and number of house parties and am planning to play in international raves across the world.
