Urban Torque® was originally a club night at Heaven in London between 1999 and 2002. The resident DJs were Juan Atkins, Justin Robertson, Craig Richards, Adam Freeland, Dave Angel, Terry Francis, Phil Perry, Dave Clarke and The Propellerheads. We staged the very first Defected Records party, had guest DJs like Danny Howells, Carl Cox, Danny Rampling, The Murk Boys and loads of live performances including an unbelievable show by Shades Of Rhythm. We were inspired by the diversity of the electronic music assembled under one roof and wanted to recreate this in a record label.

Heart Kill Giant's dreamy, acoustic ramblings are marinated in whisky and are slow burning tales of love, neglect and regret. One night last winter, after meeting the Devil on Coldharbour Lane, they were inspired to record 12 songs, which will be released as a series of 3 EPs.

Rob Wheeler’s new studio album “Leave Tomorrow” (Out Spring 2024) is a collaboration between one of the UK’s emerging Americana talents & some of the leading names in songwriting & production in the City Of Music - Nashville; TN.

Raised by a single mum & surrounded by a musical family in the NW of England, Wheeler turned a humble inheritance from his grandfather into a self-written, self-produced & critically acclaimed debut album, taking inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic in Hank Williams, The Beatles, Nick Drake, Sheryl Crow, John Mayer & The Eagles. Prominent critics such as Neil McCormick & Paul Sexton heaped further praise on to its follow up, the complex & introspective Ten Embers.

In 2021 the MidWinter Songs EP hit #1 on the Singer Songwriter Chart & he was awarded ARC Radio’s songwriter of the year.
He was soon signed to an exclusive global songwriting deal with publishers Bucks Music Group (David Bowie, The Rolling Stones); and a label deal with Absolute (Lauren Ray, Don McLean).

Wheeler has collaborated as a songwriter, producer & touring musician with an array of distinguished artists including: Robbie McIntosh, Fred Eltringham, Justin King, Steve Dorff, Daisy Chute, Tom Webber, Matt Cartsonis, Calum MacColl, Jeff Trott, Adam Wright, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Mando Saenz, John Smith, The Shires, Nell Bryden, Newton Faulkner & Eric Martin of Mr. Big.
