Thanks Hand on the Rock. It was the seed of the above song that put the Bruce Lee Water in my head a while back. That's another little wonderful experience nugget that we can deliver eachother when expressing art and again if guessed by a computer you won't get those fine details and the cherries you choose won't be yours. That cherry is ours because we experienced it together. It was real! It marked properly a moment making it memorable while evoking feelings. Now new feelings link those moments. We don't get that connectivity of feeling and nice moments with art that's handed to us. We have to take it from the start to the finish and reflect on it... Music is our therapy let's not lose that

I think I'm starting to realise... When you add the amount of instances our experience offers us and multiply that by the amount of neurons... When it comes to making art which is the business of discovery ... We have the high ground still.. We have too many connections and we have the force of feeling ... This song began back at the beginning of the summer, when Josh was messing around on his electric piano and found a structure to which to add his bass. As soon as he opened the project to the rest of Eclectic Collective, JJ jumped right in, adding his thrilling organ and ethereal background synth. Thus, Josh dropped his original e. piano part in favour of JJ's new parts. Ken was next up, adding the drums in reverse order from how he and Josh usually do it. Ken is very skilled at being able to add drums to a pre-existing bass line, which he displays in here. He also added the clever auxiliary percussion you hear throughout. Mark was next up, adding his funky clavinet, as well as his sax solo you hear lighting it up in there. He also added that synth horns arrangement leading into the last chorus. 
  Then it was time for the guitarists to do their thing. Stephen added the strong, melodic solos in the first two breaks with his guitar and wah pedal. After Tez added his thrilling solos at the end, Stephen went back in and added the funky rhythm guitar part. Tez also added the funky guitar riffs throughout the verses.
  All that was left was to get Carl in on the action, as he is the newest core member of Eclectic Collective. He wrote a poem and sung it in his signature, wild style for us.
  This is Eclectic Collective at almost full strength, pulling six musicians from two different continents and four different countries together to create a song. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
   On a side note, this will be Eclectic Collective's last song for two weeks. As most of you know, we release a song every Thursday at midnight. Due to vacation and travel at the end of summer, we'll be skipping  next Friday, the 15th, but should be returning the following Friday, the 22nd. We may also put something out this coming Tuesday, the 12th, so please stay tuned. Can't thank enough those of you who tune in regularly and support us every week.

Mark Kurtis Adams (1956-2022) is the greatest songwriter you've never heard of. We were friends for forty years. Since his passing, I have been combing through his massive catalog of original songs; many co-written with friends, many written solo. It would be a crime for the world to never hear the music I grew up on. Mark gave me permission/freedom to use his music in any way I choose before he died. Here is VOLUME 2 of Mark's music as I have interpreted it.

Original title: I like to sample old drums

Open collaborations have always triggered me and they have to be cooked, when they are still hot. So when I listened to the new track of Marquis I knew immediately what I wanted to do and created a remix in a few hours. My approach is, that I have replaced the warm and organic sounding drum-loops with cold and sterile sounding synth-sounds. Though I am far from being a Hip hop-producer I tried to apply a polished and modern attitude. I painstakingly recreated the groove of the original loops, shifting sounds exactly to the same place. All sounds are made with the Zebra-synth and mixed in Logic. I used two raps and tried to create a smooth transition between them.
