I'm in London right now and totally focused on the new music production that my team and I are developing for the upcoming period. As I travel constantly between many countries, this is a really demanding time for me. I consider myself very lucky that my job gives me the chance to regularly encounter new people, new cities, and new cultures that can stimulate my thoughts and help me grow and develop as a person and as an artist.

Originally from Western Pomerania, he found his musical way to Berlin and finally to Leipzig, where he is based as a resident of Leipzig. As the founder of the VariFocus channel, he is at home in many areas of electronic music and is known for his intuitive and high-quality DJ mixes, which are known for their special selection of music. Although he doesn't belong to any particular scene, his love for electronic music has remained as strong as ever since the mid 90's.

“This was my first gig after quite a long break so I’d been stockpiling my favourite tunes from the last few months, and there were so many that I was desperate to try out, things like the Crackazat tracks, Radio Slave, Santos, Maps and so on. It’s always a bit nerve-wracking playing again after having time off (for me anyway), and Buenos Aires is always such an important and special place to me, but once in that room with that amazing crowd, I immediately felt like I hadn’t been away. I have to credit Anhauser for the way they opened the room, leaving me space to start my set as deep as I wanted – it’s such an important role and they set the mood perfectly. It was a five-hour set but honestly, I wish it could have carried on, I was having such an incredible time. And I can’t wait to return.”

2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.
