Decided to take a trip back in time, to around 10 years ago and all the tracks i made back then. Selected what was the better ones and have thrown them all in this near on 2 hour mix with lots of funk edits, mashups, bootlegs and some originals that you probably haven't heard before. Some of the mixdowns are terrible, levels are everywhere and some tracks might be out of key. Still it's great to go through all these old tunes again and for you the listener they will sound nice and fresh.

Progression for the better is something that happens naturally to us all when we do something over a long period of time so it's great to go back to the start of it all even if the music is not going to be a chart topper but good enough to get your toes tapping. Enjoy !

This is my b-boy breakin' tribute to Ghetto Funk's origins and a fair representation of what I'd bring to Shindig; a raw build up of heavy funk breaks and beats to warm up for the weekend ahead.

Recorded in a single evening using 2x Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk3's, a Technics 1210 turntable and Pioneer DJM600 mixer.

Ghetto Funk & Shindig Weekender 2017 Competition Entry

This is an eclectic mix of super bangers I've been feeling lately. It just so happens there's a comp for Bestival in my home town of Bournemouth. I wanted to do a mix with these tracks, love a DJ comp and am always down for playing at more festivals. 
This is the mix that was born from all of the above!
Bit different from my usual Hip Hop and Ghetto Funk. However, all tracks have been tried and tested in various venues with proven results! 
I'll happily make this available to download after the comp so please, help a brother out and Share, repost and comment. I'll avoid any hypedit shenanigans. Just good old fashioned support would be ace.

BBP Power Hour Episode #29 - Mixed by Mined & Forrest (Nov 2017)

Featurecast rose to fame in the early days of the genre Nu Funk and through the record label Goodgroove Records. His funky breaks music and DJ mixes were highly sort after at the time and Featurecast led the way into the newly formed Ghetto Funk Genre and record label. The Ghetto Funk movement had a huge following and still does to this day with it's wobbly bass lines over funky breakbeats. Featurecast has been a bit quite of late concentrating on sound design to basically make a living.

Heavy Stylus: An explosive amalgamation of Jamaican roots, hip hop beats, heavy soul breaks and blaxploitation ghetto-funk.

I’ve been rocking funk/soul/beats/hiphop/roots for around 20 years in various bars and clubs across the South West, and have supported a wide range of acts and artists such including Jelly Jazz, Boca 45, Andy Smith, Quantic, Craig Charles, DJ Food, Bonobo, Gilles Peterson, Ugly Duckling and DJ Format.

Although I started as a vinyl-only DJ in Bristol, these days I use a pair of battle-scarred Pioneer CDJs as my weapons of choice. I’m currently a resident (of 11 years) at the Angel Bar on Queen Street, and in the past have held Exeter-based residencies at The Monkey Suit, Timepiece, Dr. Inks and Verve (now Urban Underground), as well as DJing regularly for Hold it Down.
