Since I've been selecting music and creating these mixes I post here, I have had a lot of amazing feedback. I really do appreciate your comments and stories of times shared listening to these. It makes it all worth while. Because I really do share them, just for that. I listen to this music all the time at my home, but to be able to spread it around is the best feeling.  To know I'm curating the soundtrack to your travelling adventures, spontaneous morning coffee dance parties, bedroom antics, cleaning the garden shed, or bouncing in your chair at work gives me a lot of joy.

Recorded in the early summer of 2022.  Fucking around playing some new tracks one day and thinking I may have something here, but wanted to take another pass at it. Well, that's not happening, so fuck it. It's OK! 

I hope you're OK. Seems lots of people are still struggling and if you are, it's OK. It's OK to not want to go out and be around people. It's OK to not be OK. But if I can do the smallest thing and share some music that might offer some relief, some lift in your heart - a clearing in your head, then that makes me happy. I hope you can see that one day soon the clouds will part, there will be great warm hugs, belly laughs and dancing. Its' hard to see sometimes, but it's there. It will come.

Janette loved to dance and was very influential in getting me into clubbing and djing back in 1985. We put lots of miles in her Scirocco driving to clubs in Seattle, Tacoma and destinations in between...Skoochies, City Beat, Club Broadway, Pacific Breeze (Club Bangkok). She loved to dance and by looking on Facebook at the last years of her life, she never stopped loving to dance with her friends. Janette was my first girlfriend and I had a lot of firsts with her. She opened my mind to a lot more that the world had to offer.  I was so lucky to spend my formative years with her. 
 I'm sorry she is gone and I wish I would have made this mix for her when she was still with us. These songs remind me of the records we listened to in our bedrooms, the tapes we played in our cars, the concerts we went to and the club hits we danced our asses off to. I can close my eyes and smell the clove cigarettes now.

 Recipe for a Funky Hebegebe Stew.

First thing to remember when preparing this stew, is that you don’t have to use all new ingredients for this to come out tasting Fresh.
Don’t be scared to dig deep in the cupboard for some old spices and funky leftovers. 
Take One Ripe old Dj and season for 25 years. Remove the crust and only use the doughy soft bits. 
Break some beats open and add generously.
Then this is where the recipe gets fun. Here you add Funk, Soul, Hip Hop, Disco and House. Don’t be scared to mix it up and you can never have too much of one and not enough of the other. The best part of this recipe is that it’s never the same and always come out just right. 
Then Heat to desired temperature. Can be enjoyed hot or cool. 
Best enjoyed with a shot of Tequila and an Ice cold beer.
