We are happy to host some fresh new talent from Stuttgart Germany this time, presenting Egotot for our 70th podcast edition. The young DJ and producer is the founder of Schimmer Records, a forward-thinking label that promotes a more minimalisitc and modern approach to techno, focusing on hypnotic soundscapes and deep grooves. With its sub-label groovebox it also offers classy house tunes as well. Egotot takes us on a journey with this mix, starting off with atmospehric and dubby cuts, and then steadily progressing in tempo and temprament, culminating in the kind of tracks you might here in a club set, all while maintaining his signature sound of complex rhythms and trippy samples. This same sound can also be heard in his own productions, which are also definitely worth checking out!

Fabian is one of the heads of the infamous Vision Ekstase collective in Stuttgart. His first releases speak for themselves. Rhythmic techno with powerful basses and a very raw sound character. We are curious about his music. His podcast is the first live set in the series and comes from the ecstasy night at his homebase: the Lehmann Club.

During the strange year of 2020, we still have seen some developments of rising genres and hypes. Apart from the more trancey and hard hitting techno, the main development occurred in the fast-paced minimal groovy techno. One of the rising DJ/producers in this genre is Assumption, who started his label Canticle and released music on Out of Place and Autonome.

In this mix, Assumption played only unreleased tracks from artists that are at the forefront of this rising genre, including Rene Wise, Hitam, Rove Ranger, Arkan and many more.

Franz is part of the Stuttgart based Schimmer Records crew and has been making serious progress in the scene with his productions in the past years, most recently seeing him release his fantastic 'Roots' EP on Hayes Collective which has gained support from the likes of DJ Stingray & MARRØN. 

His sound draws inspiration from all corners of the electronic music spectrum with Franz describing it as “wide but minimal with the intention of kidnapping the listener and drawing them in to a hectic tunnel filled with surprises and depth that manifests itself in compulsive body action.”
