The Northern Irishman’s blend of quirky Eurodance synths, uplifting trance grandeur and hard-hitting bass rhythms goes beyond catchy melodies and expert timing, as breakout hits “Lagoon” and “Youth” tap into the very essence of what makes a night spent on the dancefloor with your best mates such a special experience.

 

That’s why he’s earned more than 145 million views on TikTok, filled a Creamfields tent with thousands of ravers at 1 p.m. on a Sunday, and why he’s managed to get an official remix of Madison Avenue’s 1999 hit “Don’t Call Me Baby” after ripping the iconic vocal off the internet.

 

Crowds chant his name from Taiwan to Texas because Billy Gillies dares to do something different; something unique to himself. Now, Billy Gillies is the next superstar-DJ-in-the-making, poised to take over the world.

 

Billy’s musical obsession started in the 2000s when his older sister started buying Clubland compilation CDs and dating a local DJ. One night, the boyfriend came over and brought his decks, but when the couple left to go dancing, 11-year-old Billy snuck into his sister’s room and started playing with the turntables.

 

“I was like, ‘what is this music? I love this,’” he laughs. “On the Christmas list for that year was a set of decks.”

 

His mom delivered with his first set of Kam belt drives, and Billy’s been mad for mixing ever since. Each Saturday, he’d head out of the house with a five Pound note and spend it on a new record (Tiesto’s Traffic being particularly influential). In turn, he’d spend the next week learning to mix that record in and out of his steadily growing collection.

 

When he was 17, he got his first taste of true Clubland. A year underaged, he caught an hour-long bus from Belfast to Banbridge and talked his way into a club called Coach. Japanese DJ Yoji Biomehanika and the UK’s own Lisa Lashes dropped heavy hard-house records all night, and Billy started dreaming of his own chance to rock a crowd, proper.

 

He knew that if he wanted to be an in-demand DJ, he’d have to come up with some original songs. In 2011, he locked himself in his bedroom with a copy of Ableton Live and didn’t come out until he’d mastered the basic trance sound.

 

He fell in love with music production and started sending his tracks to BBC Radio 1 DJ Judge Jules, who played them on his show every Friday night. For 19-year-old Billy, there was nothing better.

 

After spending much of his 20s as a self-described “party animal,” 28-year-old Billy once again locked himself inside his bedroom and churned out a ton of original tunes. The result? A spot on the lineup of Luminosity 2019 alongside major trance legends Paul Van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Gareth Emery and more. He played a set of all-original material, and when a recording was posted to Soundcloud, it earned more plays than any of the headliners.

 

“I’d brung a fresh sound into the trance scene,” Gillies says. “Everyone was making the same type of thing, where I just look back at my influences growing up and crammed it into the main trance style.”

 

International booking requests flooded in, sending him to Argentina to Australia—and then COVID struck. Many of his peers saw no point releasing music to a locked-down crowd, but Billy saw a chance to experiment.

 

“People need music in hard times, not just for clubs,” he says. “The music I was making around that time was proper emotional melodies, and it was resonating with everyone.”

 

He’d share each tune in a rough clip to Facebook or TikTok, and every post brought shares in the thousands. His fan base wasn’t just growing, it was ballooning, due in part not only to his masterful skills in the studio but also his effervescent personality that spills into each tune.

Hectic Entity is another guise of trance producer Ardentity, to showcase his harder & faster music covering such genres as hard dance, hardstyle, hardcore, drum & bass and dubstep. The Hectic Entity name was created way back in 2005 but with trance productions being the main output in recent years for him, the harder genres that Chris used to produce frequently fell by the wayside... until now...

The uploads at the moment are some of the best past works produced under the Hectic Entity name and with new tracks on the way in the near future, there's sure to be more than enough of the hard stuff coming out from his studio soon!

I've been making dance music for around 20 years now, I have had a few tracks noticed by record labels, most notably being a runner up in the Tidy Trax "Music For A Harder Generation" remix competition in 2009, yet still remaining unsigned. But since the start of 2012, things were beginning to get somewhere, one track "Cold Snap" was included by Cold Blue on his 'Moments' mix back in January with Suncatcher also supporting it and some offers of remix work coming in, the hard work was finally paying off!

Starting 2013 saw just one remix released in March, the rest of that and the following year was mostly spent away from the music making, sorting a fair few things and preparing for and undergoing some big changes to my work and personal life.

The music is now more of a part-time hobby these days. But if something good does come out of it, I’ll be sure to post it up on here.

Allan Morrow (UK) is a name which has become synonymous with the worldwide Trance community, this talented DJ & producer from the United Kingdom has spent years perfecting his production talents and in turn his music has received support from various high profile DJ’s such as Armin Van Buuren, Simon Patterson & Aly & Fila amongst many more.


Allan first got immersed in Electronic Dance music by a visit to the clubbing capital of the world Ibiza; a trip to the legendary Amnesia for Cream followed and really opened his eyes to the immense power of Electronic music. Mesmerised by the Turntable trickery of Deck wizard Eddie Halliwell, this was a turning point for Allan and as soon as he returned to the UK he purchased his first set of Turntables, and began to hone his musical ear by perfecting the art of DJing.


Not content with playing the music he loved to spin, it wasn’t long before Allan decided to set up his own home Studio and became involved in Music Production. Allan has invested several years mastering his sound and this has proven to be a valuable asset making Allan an Artist that produces 100% of his own material, without the need of Engineers or Ghost-writers, something that not many recent producers can claim today. This has lead to his productions being on credible labels such as Armada, Blackhole Recordings, Damaged Records, Kearnage Recordings, Mental Asylum Records, Tytanium Recordings, Discover & Many more!. 


Allan cites Paul Van Dyk, Simon Patterson, Giuseppe Ottaviani & Will Atkinson as his main influences when it comes to Production, so it comes as no surprise that Allan’s sound is rooted firmly in the more energetic side of the Trance Spectrum. His productions are always aimed straight at the global Dance-floors with club shaking Kick drums, Cone rattling bass lines & a touch of acid thrown in for good measure, his signature sound is always complimented by strong melodies, full-fire Synths & Clever FX which has earned Allan many plaudits from both clubbers, DJ’s & Producers around the world.



With a discography that most producers can only dream of, the future is looking promising for Allan, one of the Nu-Breed Trance producers really making an impact on the modern day Electronic music scene.

For Suncatcher, it all started in 2003 with a LEVEL magazine and the demo version of Fruity Loops 3.5. It took 5 years for his first release, the lesser known ‘Solaria’. But then, Above & Beyond played ‘Epic’ 3 times in TATW, and his career received the kickstart it was waiting for. Numerous signings at highly respected labels such as Enhanced, FSOE, Euphonic, AVA or Subculture, just to name a few and remixes for Tiësto, Adam Nickey, John O’Callaghan or Neptune Project have found their way into the playlists of DJ’s such as Armin van Buuren, John O’Callaghan, Sean Tyas, Aly & Fila, Above & Beyond or Paul van Dyk. These releases were naturally followed by gigs in Spain, UK, Holland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Slovakia, and Romania, joining big festivals such as BeeFree, Luminosity Beach Festival, Afterhills and, most notably, Untold.

In the recent years, Bogdan started experimenting with collabs and found a new friend and perfect collab buddy in Exolight, with which he has released more than a dozen tracks and started a new project, Sunlight State, tackling the more bass-heavy and bangin’ style. And on the flip side, he continues to expand his horizon, even more, venturing into the progressive area as well.
