Capace di influenzare una generazione di chitarristi rock, da Eric Clapton a Stevie Ray Vaughan, Riley B. King (questo il suo vero nome) aveva cominciato la carriera negli anni '40 e da allora ha pubblicato piu' di 50 dischi. Il musicista era nato nel 1925 in una piantagione di cotone vicino a Itta Benna, in Mississippi, dove inizialmente aveva lavorato in una fattoria prendendo però contemporaneamente le prime lezioni di musica in una scuola locale.
