Born under the shade of the sails of Scampia, difficult neighborhood at the periphery of Naples. Born in 1980, she embarked on a career in the music world working very hard, starting as a waitress in many clubs and then as a dancer for several years. 
When she was a teenager she moved to Northern Italy for the high school, started a route into the world of fashion industry studying to become a fashion designer, but soon she understands that his path was in a completely different direction, enthusiasm for the night life in the local gave her the right reason to start a journey that now counts a lot of people who appreciate her, first of all for her talent. 
Came back soon to live in her hometown, Naples, who led Deborah to work on her knowledge into new music genres and trends, giving shape to a charisma that immediately has worked hard with productions signed by her as Sola_mente Records label founded in March 2013. But let's go straight to the point. Finally, I share with you my DJ Mix 03, recorded at Jardins Efémeros, in Viseu (Portugal) where I present new songs and other songs that you already know. Time sure does fly when you’re having fun, and so it is that we’ve already raced up to podcast number 200. We’ve managed to call upon a suitably large name for the honour; someone who has very much shaped the techno scene over the course of the last 20 years and continues to excite people every time he plays. That man is Surgeon. As a performer, Birmingham’s Anthony Childs was one of the first men to embrace and exploit the possibilities of Ableton Live and Final Scratch. His mastery of that technology made his sets even more improvised and innovative, and over the years he has never compromised his vision. He plays with a sense of devastation and destruction that explores the very outer edges of what is possible, while always keeping the dance floor absolutely locked in. It’s been the same since he founded his hometown’s first techno club, House of God, at the start of the 90s. 

As a producer—whether solo or in celebrated collaborations with Regis as British Murder Boys or Ben Sims as Frequency 7—he seems to be getting better with age. Right from his first EP on Karl O’Connor’s Downwards in 1994, surgeon has had a hard hitting, linear style that remains to this day. Recent years saw him return to a primitive rave style and incorporate the gritty industrial influences of his youth. But in 2018 he evolved again and served up what many consider to be his best album in years. Luminosity Device features a more rhythmic, playful sense of drum programming next to his meticulously crafted synths and enthralling sense of urgency and future paranoia. The nuance in his tracks is now as intriguing as the visceral power of the kicks, and it all adds up to an album that works as well on headphones, at home, as it does on the dance floor. It’s proper techno by a proper techno head. 

And so is the mix he has put together for us. Over 1 hour 45 minutes, the man calls upon plenty of pivotal names from Juan Atkins and Oscar Mulero to Donato Dozzy and James Ruskin. There are plenty of twists and turns along the way, so that zoned out passages of dubbed out drums are followed by intergalactic space battles and moments of synth laden intensity. It’s a testament to Surgeon’s skills that he can take you to such far ranging corners of the techno world without ever getting lost.

Nueva's 59th release, coming courtesy of the very talented E-Spectro and feat. vocals from Escenda,  is upon us and it's a very much anticipated one at that, as it features remixes from the uber talented Stan Kolev, the always exciting Jay FM from Ireland and the contest winner Syncroft & Unstatic, as they edged out over 70 remix submissions and a grueling 1 month vote to appear on the release.

The Title track comes from one of our favourite Nueva producers; E-Spectro, as they team up with the very unique Escenda on vocals.  Together they put forth one of the smoothest tracks of the year, full of deep rolling bass lines and a melancholic melody something akin to the Moonbeam sound.

Getting Stan Kolev was a no-brainer for us as we knew he'd put his signature deep prog sound on it and of course amazing ability to find the melody and groove in anything!  Stunning!

Making another appearance is a producer you should keep on your short list: Jay FM.  Jay FM takes the road less traveled with his take...dare we say in the vein of industry legend  James Holden.  A breathtaking deep journey that cuts up and glitches the original into a visceral journey for the senses.

Wrapping this amazing package up is the winner of Nueva's second annual remix contest and it's such a fitting remix making sure we give every type of prog listener a mix for them on the release.  Syncroft & Unstatic go to one our favourite decades to sample: the 80's, and tap into that Michael Cassette vibe we all love.  We'll be seeing more of these chaps for sure!

From a serial killers basement, somewhere in London UK, Hefty has pioneered the darkside for over a decade. Undoubtedly the preeminent master of darker sounds, skillfully preparing you for the impending apocalypse with his unique style. His music is heavily influenced by a wide range of subjects including geo politics, psychology, world affairs, conspiracy theories, the occult and modern history. 

It's small wonder Hefty has enjoyed the attention of well respected labels, and most importantly, has earned the loyalty and dedication of fans who have been known to travel for many hours just to hear him play. Famed for his raw, heavy and uncompromising dark sets, this London based DJ has been in international demand over the past years, conquering clubs and festivals (eg. Tresor, Modem Festival, Bucht der Träumer Festival) across Europe and as far as Brazil, Canada and Australia.

After a few years, he was inspired to create his own label: Darker Sounds. Focused solely on showcasing underground dark techno and emerging talent, Darker Sounds has never compromised its dedication to keeping the style and quality of its out put consistently high.

Unafraid to constantly refine and evolve his style, Hefty ventured into the world of psychedelic trance. Carving out his own path, he has used his techno production techniques to create his own style of dark, driving psychedelic trance. He decided to create his own psychedelic label "Erebos Records" which has become a platform for releasing the darkest psy trance from the best undiscovered artists from around the world. 

This psychedelic adventure then lead Hefty to start producing his own version of downtempo / chillout music, which he calls Dark Tek Chillout. Produced at 100bpm, this style is dark, heavy and hypnotic, allowing Hefty to truly experiment with the dancefloor and bring awareness to the various dark subjects that inspire his music. 

Now armed with a trifecta of genres, Hefty is on track to further cement his reputation as an unstoppable force in the the dark realm.
