This is the third track in The Minimal Series. The kick combines with a breakbeat & reverse snare with some subtle percussion to set the groove, progressing to some delay effects on the breakbeat & white noise elements. Next I took some risks here with elongated synth sounds that cycle in pitch & become progressively shorter before ending on a combined dual elongated synth. Overall, I hoped it had a majestic Bodzin-esque quality, & to be a good example of how few elements can keep interest. The artwork series is a tribute to Mondrian, combining sound with minimalism, neo-plasticism, and abstractionism.

Ascetic Limited is back with another digital release from an up and coming producer from our second home, Tbilisi. Making the jump from California's Underground techno scene to the underground Georgian techno scene for the first addition to our digital catalog from an artist outside of California. We are excited to welcome Georgian native, Benvol with a 4 track EP titled Moriel.
The EP begins with Insomnia, a dance floor orientated techno cut that is driving yet progressive and deep.Next, the title track of the EP, Moriel, is a deep dive into the capacity of Benvol as a producer. A driving, hypnotic techno cut with a powerful approach to deep techno showing his full spectrum of skill while delivering this dance floor bomb.
Fight is a track that reflects the struggle of the Georgian rave community for their fight to be free to rave it's marked by a deep arpeggio and a distorted vocal and intense drums.
Lastly, Black Sea is an ambient cut with deep, yet dark tones driven by a subtle drone to close out the EP.

BACKGROUND Hegstraction grew up in the 80s & 90s heavily influenced by the emergent electronic music in Amiga, Nintendo & PlayStation video games & the movie soundtracks by electronic music pioneers Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis & Kraftwerk. Recent influences from German techno DJ/producers Felix Krocher & Stephan Bodzin.

INSPIRATION His inspiration differs from most artists as it comes from the dance floor where he is most at home. From over 20 years experiencing DJ sets worldwide throughout Europe, Asia, South & North America, his ideas have been shaped.

METHODOLOGY He approaches each track as a mini set, building up slowly, using level changes, sounds that stimulate & energize, following Skeletalism (using closely related sounds) & Massification (layering sounds over time) methods.
