We are so happy to welcome the outernational DJ-Dou @oriental-tropical based in Wiesbaden with roots in Greece and Ukraine. The name says it all!

Both are playing music and organizing events since more than two decades and since exactly one decade together. About half a decade ago Michalis and Janeck started to run regular slow down happenings as a part of "Mach Mal Langsam"-collective (@machmallangsam). The collective shares the passion to decelerated beats and relaxed grooves with a faithful and meanwhile huge audience.    

"We love music, digital, analog, live or recorded, organic or electronic, or all together...We love rhythms and riddims, operating certain with 4-to-the-floor, wouldn't mind to take a ride on 3/4, 6/8, or even 7/8-time signature. We have a pleasure to use the tempo also as an element to transport and express the emotions."

Performing on parties Oriental Tropical have seldom the opportunity to keep people on raving for a long time under 90bpm! This is exactly tempo limit of their latest mixtape created for Us from the neighboring Frankfurt.

How Slow Can You Go? Thats was the question...

To go slower as that is more the assignment for Michalis and his tempered by time psy-chill-dub project @schlafcola. Anyways they are strongly influenced by this sounds.

Jan Hertz, a northener living in Berlin for many years now, creates atmospheric and melodic electronic music with a minimalistic approach. 
After bringing out tracks on Sisyphon and Symbiont Music, his last releases were his album ‚Moj’ and the remix album ‚Moj (Versions)‘, both on the Berlin based label heiter bis wolkig.

Welche Lebensweisheit gibt euch den nötigen Düsentrieb?

Welche Eigenschaft findet ihr am jeweils anderen inspirierend? 

Düsi: Ich muss sagen ich hab ja schon viele entgleiste Gesichtsausdrücke bestaunen dürfen. Aber eins kann ich sagen, niemand kommt an Gesichtsgrimassen Ivi's ran. Wenn du denkst dämlicher gehts nicht mehr, kommt von irgednwo der Käptn her (und Bühnen bauen kann er auch).

Käpt'n: Ich muss sagen ich hab ja schon mit vielen Menschen Schabernack treiben dürfen. Aber eins kann ich sagen, niemand kommt in den Schabernackstunden an die Raffinèsse David's ran. Wenn du denkst genialer gehts nicht mehr, kommt von irgendwo der Düsi her (und rappt die komplette sächsische version von Eminem's Luus Yoasälw).


Tipps von euch für graue Wintertage?

Na, an so grauen Wintertagen darf ein ausgewogenes Frühstück nicht fehlen. Sonntags nach dem Aufstehen, geht doch nichts über eine Portion Speck mit Eiern. Solltet ihr immer noch stehen, gilt das umso mehr. Das liefert die Basis für einen energiereichen und produktiven Tag. 
Aber wollt ihr es so richtig wissen und dem Winter den Mittelfinger entgegenstrecken, heißt es raus aus der Komfortzone, Rauf aufs E-Fahrrad (wir wollen ja nicht übertreiben mit der Sportlichkeit) und ab ans nächste Gewässer. Ein paar Runden Hyperventilieren, Augen zu und ab ins nasse Kalt. Zur Aufwärmung empfehlen wir dann anschließend einen guten Zirbenschnaps in der nächstgelegenen Sauna.

We are happy that @alban-endlos joins us for the first release on heiter bis wolkig. Three tracks serve as a teaser for Alban’s upcoming Album - accompanied by remixes from @powel, @ddoollpphh and @janhertz.

Don’t expect from-the-shelf-electronics here: Alban weaves a weird but beautiful blend of foley tools, saxophones, detuned pianos, analogue synths and pulsing beats. Add the organic touch of guitars and drums by friends he invited over to the studio and top it off with vocal recordings from his childhood.

The demo left us amazed - the EP now finally enters our living rooms to warm our feet in the winter and surely invade some dancefloors as well…

While the founders want to stay open minded for genres, styles and their artists' neuroses, their distinctive character and taste will most likely be found in a lot of the music they promote. In the end, heiter bis wolkig was founded as an open-hearted playground for friends.
