These changes include global warming, habitat loss, changes in the chemical composition of the atmosphere, oceans and soil, and animal extinctions.

And it's not just happening on Earth: we've also changed our own species through genetic modification and technology. We are living in a time when nothing seems certain anymore-but that doesn't mean we can't do something about it.
