A song i wrote a while back.. Here are the lyrics:


Hey little girly weird and thin, I’m gonna steal your golden ring, 
You sneak into my room and torture my night, quickly swirling out of sight.
Sun goes down and here you are, knocking on my door ajar, 
Your little heart is black and sore, cos you have never used it before.

Left by her friends, she built up a fence, 
And lost her mind, deciding.

Magic toy shop


Mr Stark was one old lad, 
Making toys was all he had, 
But he didn’t care, 
His heart was there. 

And every day, in his magic shop, 
Kids were running around a lot, 
But he didn’t mind, 
His heart was kind.

‘Sit around me,

I’ve built a new toy for thee,

Poor old man, 
With his naive plan, 
Knew nothing.
But he was
Loved for his craft, not his
His silly laugh, 
And his magic was sure waisted, 
When the kids showed their real faces.

So the old man lost his way, 
And the toyshop wasn’t there to stay, 
And the kids, they walked out, 
Fair, they didn’t care. 

His empty windows, put to rest, 
Drew the looks like a dead man’s chest
And the kids, they went away, 
They wouldn’t stay.

Imagine if Tim Burton asked Kate Bush to create a song cycle with Danny Elfman and commissioned Bjork to produce it.

Croatian-born, London-based Helena spent her childhood giving classical recitals around the world, blissfully unaware of pop, until a chance conversation with a lecturer inspired her to set a poem to music. For the rest of her degree Helena hid in her bedroom, channelling Kate Bush, Danny Elfman and Bjork to create her eerie piano pop songs.  

Breaking free of the classical world, Helena’s eerie piano fairy tales have been featured on BBC 6 Music Introducing, Dandelion Radio and an Audio Antihero compilation with artists such as Jeffrey Lewis, Diane Cluck and Darren Hayman.
