Tuatara is a Sydney-based music producer, label DJ, and creative director for Trimurti Records. His sound draws on glitch hop and bass vibes but has a decidedly acoustic touch and psychedelic twist to it.

After years of touring in Goa and around South-East Asia, organizing forest psychedelic parties in the jungles of Thailand, releasing numerous compilations on several independent labels, he gained enough recognition and experience to produce truly unique music that moves and satisfies demanding ears. 

Tuatara is one of the best-kept secrets in Sydney’s underground scene. His noted performances are the live sets at Dragon Dreaming and Tropical Bloom festivals to name a few. It’s time to introduce and share his signature sound with BK punters.

"Putting 88 tracks through the digital mincer and peppering the results with 773 audio files of spasticated goodness, Zilla (partner to the erstwhile Buddy Peace) has concocted a cochlea rupturing mix that acts as a perfect pre-Christmas treat.
Concentrating on marble-mouthed hip-hop and chrome plated beats, Zilla (who many will have experienced via his collaborative mix with Buddy Peace on the cd accompanying Warp's "warpvision" dvd) makes sure the listener never sinks into an over familiar stupor by dicing vocals and forcing them into unholy unions with everything from IDM and drill&bass through to discordant cartoon-core and broken beat spasms.

here is a download gift / sneak tease for the fans, to show the kind of quality I'm extracting from my old cassettes using mega high quality cassette decks.
Because I've added vari-speed, I get to choose what speed I encode them at, I've done a few different versions of all my fave ones and it's usually just what I think sounds good at the time or just different to what I'm used to.
This one is from a That's cassette labelled copy III , i used a lot of the VX90 tapes in that period of my life.
It is the 12th track on side a.
Even though I used to write COPY *.number, they were actually the original masters.
Think was one of the first tracks that had a small section with intentional microtuning, [harmonic series sec]
Encoded with Nakamichi CR7e cassette deck.

+added, it cuts out at the end coz the tape ran out :)
I remember sometimes recording tracks to cassettes, I'd be looking at the cassette nearing the end and try and finish the track before the tape ran out :)
