After being a standout track on the Buena Onda compilation last year, up-and-coming Italian Feel Fly's 'Esperanto' now gets a standalone digital release next to new mixes from Gallo and Marcoradi.

Daniele Tomassini aka Feel Fly has been making lovely Balearic waves on International Feel, Internasjonal and New Interplanetary Melodies is also the co-founder of the mysterious Afro Templum party. He hails from Perugia and as well as DJing and producing, he composes for theatre and cinema and plays as part of several live and studio bands. His majestic 'Esperanto' soon lifts you off your feet with its sweeping drums and gentle acoustic guitar riffs. The whole thing is doused in big, lush chords that wash over you and brings waves of gentle euphoria.

Then comes a classic, stripped-out Tropical Hinterhof remix by label mainstay Gallo. It is almost eight minutes of blissed-out ambient-disco that has you gazing at a cloudless blue sky. Majestic synth patterns ripple way up above and suspend you in a soothing state of mind before dreamy breaks begin to tumble and carry you to the next level.

The second mix comes from Marcoradi, who works on labels like Claremont 56 as Hear & Now with Ricky L , and is widely thought of as one of the best and most prolific Balearic production duos to have emerged from Italy in the last year. In solo mode, he flips 'Esperanto' into a widescreen Italo disco pumper with silvery arps, dusty claps and arching pads that seem to go on forever.

All three of these tracks are summer-ready jams for open-air dancing.

Athletes of God is the powerful combination of Roisin Murphy's producer Parrott aka Crooked Man, and Lady Blackbird on ‘Don’t Wanna Be Normal’.

Parrott makes his debut on Foundation Music after having a seminal career that spans decades. From his beginnings as a DJ at Sheffield Club Jive Turkey, he was cited as the inspiration for Warp Records, to being the very first release on Warp under his ‘Sweet Exorcist’ moniker with Cabaret Voltaire’s Richard H Kirk, he is one of the originators of the Sheffield ‘bleep’ sound. His Crooked Man project saw him signed to James Murphy’s DFA Records, and amongst many other plaudits, most recently the elusive producer worked his black magic on Rosin Murphy’s incendiary album ‘Rosin Machine’.

This downtempo, electro-soul version of Randy Crawford’s ‘Don’t Wanna Be Normal’ has largely been unknown. Foundation Music Ross Allen’s been loving it and wanting to cover it since he heard Pete Tong play it back in ’86 on Invicta Radio.

Athletes Of God infuse Lady Blackbird’s iconic voice into a deep & soulful, moody electronic journey. Athletes of God and Lady Blackbird take a well-formed song and bring it up to present day with its perfectly timed message for 2022. The message more apt than ever. With the right singer and the right producer, it was finally time to do this track justice. Played already on 6 Music in its demo form by Roisin Murphy, with listeners raving since Roisin dropped that first sneaky tease.

This is a long overdue collaboration and we couldn't be more excited to present a brand new EP from our man, Jena's mad scientist funk freak himself, Metaboman. A stalwart veteran of the legendary Musik Krause camp, which has been a kindred spiritual sister label of sorts of ours since the millennium-turn heydays, being fellow purveyors of bold and raw dance floor music, still brimming with new ideas galore and bucket loads of soul.

Here with the Wireless Dancer EP we have Metaboman in top form offering nothing less than his finest work: "Doppeldenk" starts things off with some classic Krause bump that brings to mind the heights of the Duo at their peak but updated, like an STL banger turned up to 11 with sinewy melodic lines and that special Thuringen twist. "Hanno" follows up with a guest spot by jazz saxophone master Thomas Prestin, and guarantees to bring down the house with a storm of swinging stabs, rough riffs, and fresh-as-it-gets drum work. On the flip, "Splitit" does exactly that, whether referring to wigs, legs, or that last drink ticket - where dusty blues vox chops and a rolling percussive smack down will revive any fading floor faces. And finally, "EchterG" rounds it all out nicely with the illest of atonal trips and subsonic bass tones that the finer sound systems out there will fully indulge.
