Happy to share our 20th release on the label with you and it's a pleasure to welcome Desert Island Disco. A collective based out of Lisbon & London who have delivered for us the Shell Beach EP, a collection of four sunny cuts rich in colour and melody and packed with dance-floor power perfect for the rise in temperatures. On the remix Joe Morris applies his balearic beach breaks vibe while Statues slows the tempo with a chugging Italo-house refix.

Love on the Rocks is very excited to present Sharif Laffrey's "Key Jam A.C.I.D.". 
His first release since the sleeper hit "Turn It Up" was released on Discos Capablanca over two years ago.

"Key Jam A.C.I.D." is The Treasure + The Mystery. Laffreys signature raw edit style is in full effect on this 9 minute proto-dance heater. 

Sharif Laffrey has been playing records and making music for 20 long hard years. Born in Detroit, Michigan - he’s worked on the line checking camshafts for Chryslers & at Submerge for Mike Banks - at the same time.

He toured Asia with Juan Atkins and once had to chase grown man through the streets at night, who had crawled into his living room through an open window.
An active member in Detroit’s early rave scene, Sharif remembers booking all foreign gigs with a fax machine - and would still do it that way, if anybody else had them anymore.
He drove a black Trans-Am from 1990 to 1995.

Acid, tons of random stuff, tough, sexy, lovely, slow. Freak Mode. He is dealing with the fame. More to come. Slowly.

From the man who runs Hell Yeah Recordings and the edit man from the Balearic Gabba Soundsystem comes this vinyl only edit series, now unleashing its second release.

The first sold out in quick time, with great feedback from a wide range of DJs (from Locodice to Prins Thomas), and the second is likely to do the same: taking two classic tracks, Italian producer Enzo Elia channels his love of all thing Balearic and re-edits for the modern day.

Enzo has been a music loving vinyl obsessive since his teens, with productions on esteemed labels like Hell Yeah, Engrave, Lion1Music, and support for them coming in from the likes of Osunlade, DJ Hell, Carl Cox and Kenny Larkin. On his Balearic Gabba Edits Vol 2 release, though, he showcases a wider production skill than ever before…

The first edit is Problem by NOW NOW NOW, originally released back in 1991 and an affirmed classic for proper balearic headz.

Retaining the original’s synth smears, Enzo adds the patter of gentle congas, some micro-bacterial synth sounds and perfectly encapsulates whatever it is to be Balearic in the modern day.

The second is one of Ramirez’s lesser-known productions, Tambores from the 1993 album Terapia that also birthed better-known classics like Hablando. Here Enzo slows down and strips out the original into something with more humid percussion lines, tribal drums and filtered voices. It’s deep and organic house for the late night hours.

Bootlegs these are not – completly new re-inventions of two classic tracks they certainly are…

PT005 sees NYC based Gee Dee deliver the fifth physical disc on Planet Trip, following his recent EP on Superior Elevation Greg D presents the "Key of Sea”. A freaky four tracker of cosmic influenced melters, effortlessly moving through hazy and dub influenced housey cuts, balearic tinged ear worms and oddball downtempo trips. Suitable for sunsets with friends or late nights with strangers, a record with a cut for all hours of the dance.

As always limited to strictly 300 copies, no repress.
