After the success of the first, there always had to be a second Buena Onda compilation. Before that arrives later this year comes a second delicious sampler featuring a remix from Calm, some 303 Balearic action from Iceland, Italian house newcomer Relative and a fresh Gallo rework.

Buena Onda is of course the cult Berlin-based party that constantly redefines Balearic music. It is run by Hell Yeah label boss Marco with resident DJ and co-founder Gallo and is a party that is both eclectic and euphoric, whether serving up slow acid or dreamy downtempo.

This sampler opens up with Buena Onda favourite Calm and his epic Mellow Mellow Acid remix of Gallo's 'Abysso,' which is long-legged, fulsome and laced with life-affirming piano chords. Then comes Icelandic artist Tonarunur who used to record as B.G. Baarregaard and has landed on the likes of Eskimo Recordings and Citizens of Vice. He layers deep acid lines into a smooth house groove that is sprinkled with cosmic dust. Italian house newcomer Relative then brings tumbling percussion, smeared chords and plenty of drama Italo vibes to his tune 'The Healing Place' and Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof Remix of Kayroy's 'Imagine' is five minutes of post-rave comedown bliss with gorgeous ambient design and celestial chord work that soothes the soul.

This is another perfect snapshot of the mature musical thrills you get at Buena Onda.

Also arriving from the More Rice camp are minimal master DOTT alongside supreme psychedelic selector, Elaheh. Prolific producer DOTT has been steadily winning fans across continents with his twisted brand of stripped techno and house. Meanwhile, Thai-Iranian DJ Elaheh is masterfully living up to her reputation as one to watch as she emerges from the Asian underground on her very own terms. Their track is a paranoid warehouse bump that pops from the speakers powerfully as subtle textures rise over earth-shaking rhythms.

Night Young label head, Muning, is back with a vibrant EP entitled Cuerpo B. The five tracks collected here were plucked from sessions as long ago as 2015 and as recently as just last year. Despite being recorded so sporadically over the past six years, the tracks form a cohesive whole which displays Muning's varied and complex production styles. Each of the tracks presented on Cuerpo B are deeply personal, warm, and evocative. From the shuffling, propulsive opener "Autoestima" to the yearning, heartfelt lilt of "Through The Hourglass" to the glimmering, effervescent funk of "Calvary Hotel" Muning wears his heart on his sleeve while painting scenes of love, loss, hope, and frustration.The EP ebbs and flows nicely as it progresses; creating peaks and valleys, dark days and picturesque sunrises. Each bit of delightfully sunny synth melody is perfectly counterbalanced by a mournful sample or emotionally impactful chord progression. Muning manages to deftly combine elements of house, new age, ambient, and funk to create something unique, impactful, and necessary.

This second compilation of contemporary Balearic sounds is a perfect snapshot of the Berlin party of the same name, and a fine representation of the Hell Yeah label it comes on. Featuring 12 exclusive tracks and remixes from family and friends, this now annual collection of global beats comes on cassette, digital and as a double vinyl sampler this autumn.

Compiled by Marco Gallerani and Gallo, this collection is all about updating and refining what Balearic means. It's exotic music for exotic people, grown-up sounds for those who still like to get down. From acid to disco, Italo to downtempo, it's all here and ready to transport you to a dance floor in paradise.

This compilation is jam-packed with heat including Cacao's standout summer sizzler 'Lambada.' You can also expect another classic Mellow Mellow Acid remix from the one and only Calm, Max Essa's Mediterranean deep house take on The Vendetta Suite, churning cosmic charms from Somerville & Wilson and the soft-acid-rave sounds of Gallo's Tropical Hinterhof remix.
