Welcome to Episode 197 on Poisonoise Music with this mix seeing the return of Bulgarian based artist Ivelin Iliev aka Protuberance.

Ivelin Iliev from Bulgaria is the face behind the Protuberance project, who for over 20 years has been listening and selecting electronic music. In 2010 he buys the appropriate equipment and opens his own studio. He starts producing and publishing his music in different netlabels both in Bulgaria and abroad. He works with the oldest netlabel in Bulgaria – MAHORKA – and produces 4 independent albums, one of which has been released on disc. He is one of the founders of compilation series called Eastern Depths. In its four editions the compilation explores the experimental underground scene in Bulgaria, and compiles the music of many different independent producers in the country. As a producer he likes to experiment, and sets no limits to his music. In it you can find Deep techno, Dub techno, Drum and basis, IDM, and deep Dub Ambient. In 2019 he releases his own internet podcast series called Cryptic Vibes. He uses it to express his DJ side, and mixes his own music selections. The music itself in Cryptic Vibes is very diverse and follows the intertwining of the dub sound within the different dance genres like techno, tech house, and minimal. His sets have been part of rubrics like Deep electronic podcast, Melotonin podcast, Poisonoise music, Overdose dUbcast.

Liuos seemed to arrive on the dub techno scene all at once with Terms EP, his strong debut on Cold Tear Records, but this was the culmination of two decades of experimentation and discipline. A unique mix of power and spaciousness, of both longing and will, Liuos’ work stands out for its clarity and expansiveness. Working steadily from his modest studio in Finland, Liuos has quietly become a respected name in the world of dub techno, with releases on Cold Tear, Lucidflow, and spclnch, and remixes for Superordinate Dub Waves and Off Records (Belgium).

Armin has been into techno for over 30 years. Started DJing in the 90s. He is still DJing, mainly with Vinyl. Since the early 2000s, he's been active in and around Erlangen / Nuremberg (Germany) as a member of the local non-profit Electronic Party Collective called "STRONG SIGNALS". So far, he has released the OHM series, spclnch, and Piranha Siberia Dub on Greyscale.

Over the past couple of years, I realized that it’s more pleasant for me to just love music, and not to be a musician or DJ: collecting vinyl, looking for ambient and dub techno to listen to on endless trips, recording demos on my Digitakt in the forests of Siberia, the mountains of the Caucasus and along the rivers of the central Russia. Most often I make mixes on trains or planes, and the tracks are born from live recordings that I prepare for my rare performances. Life is in full swing, but at the same time I am a lonely person and this makes me feel comfortable, this is the main refrain in my work. Its form is expressed in broken rhythm, sub-bass and ambient canvases. 
In addition to dub techno, I write leftfield and breakbeat in the spirit of the Ilian Tape label and the cult Leftfield. By the way, my live in this genre was released on Nikita Zabelin’s program - Resonance Moscow on May 11, and I’m preparing an album for them. 
As for today’s mix, the photo shows my dear and beloved Ryazan, and today’s journey through its night streets in the company of classics of the genre, the unexpected Burial with two remixes, the beloved Danes Lulu Rouge and Fussganger, and the amazing Óþekkt from Glasgow. "I recorded this mix after a little timeout, away from the city. I called it "Stadtflucht" (I think exodus from the city is the English meaning). I escaped from an active construction site where I live and from the loud and crowded city. I think this mix reflects that. There is still some hum and distant noise, that seems to reverberate, but from a safe distance in a natural environment."
