It feels like only a moment ago that we welcomed Russian prodigy Andrey Pushkarev to the Circus Company fold with the Gingo Biloba 12”, and after that refined exercise in stripped down dancefloor aesthetics it’s gives us great pleasure to bring him back in for another three-pronged demonstration of his considerable studio talent. 

The core principles laid out in that first EP are back in abundance, with Pushkarev expanding on his love of dubbed-out dance music with a fresh batch of rhythms and pulses custom-made to ensnare the subconscious in that time-honoured tradition of meditative house and techno.

Welcome to our next instalment in the PC mix series - sorry for the delay but we have made sure its been worth the wait!

If you are a Dub-Tech devotee then I'm sure you are well aware of Upwellings aka Vincent Raude. During this series we have not really focused on Live recordings but when Vincent suggested one we jumped at the opportunity. We are massive fans of Upwellings and are proud to have him aboard + we are also treated to a few unreleased tracks - yess!

This is a well crafted hour of goodness.

All tracks were played live by upwellings exclusively for the primary colours mix series.

Primary [colours] Mix Series #10 - Upwellings (Live)

"In 1987, Hady aka Konn8 was born in Beirut. All throughout the 90’s, spent his time listening to cassette tapes that belonged to his father, and these included the likes of Robert Miles, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Buddha Bar, and Enigma amongst others. Day by day the love for music grew while spending time collecting cassettes and eventually owning his first computer to record his own collection of personal favorites using simple software and programs. Fast forward to 2007 where he moved to Beirut to start University, during these times Trance music had taken over the scene in the city. Every weekend, Hady spent his time attending music events and festivals and eventually buying his first Pioneer DJ set. The year 2008 was a tipping point in Hady’s music taste where in one night he visited Beirut’s renowned club called Basement which was famous for it’s underground music as well as live sets, to weekly international DJ events.
At that time Hady decided to focus more on learning Traktor and diving completely into music genres such as deep and tech house. Around that time, by simple chance Hady meets with an old high school friend in Lebanon, who has spent his entire time on music production using Ableton. They quickly bonded and shared their passion for creating something unrestricted by genre and mostly just for the fun on making good sounds. Fast forward to 2017, today Hady spends most of his time having fun with Traktor and Ableton from time to time.
Specialties vary from Nu-Disco, Deep House, to Progressive, and Dub Techno. This will always depend on the moment."

Silva Sea

Tuğçe Kurtiş is the first soul-bird sharing her special sound with us. Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe grew up with a love for music. She studied voice, jazz vocals and west-african drumming and is known for her ethereal & clear voice. She performed in countless occasions and her musical output crosses genres and continents. In addition to singing and recording in multiple languages, Tuğçe collaborates with the talented Santi in song-writing and musical production. As the founder of the Kybele project, she develops opportunities for greater collaboration and broader inclusion of artists from around the world. Since 2016, Tuğçe has produced podcasts and played DJ sets for numerous radio shows, record labels and live events. With MONADA BRAHMA 001 she invites us on an intercultural acoustic journey with smooth vibes and dope influences woven in a heart-opening downtempo beat. So let the stars dance in a vortex of the cosmic monads! :))

As for every upcoming podcast we choose an artwork correlating to the sound, the artist and the story behind it. For our lovely monad Tuğçe we’ve chosen Radkas „The children of hot suns“: It's a kind of reflection to her EP "Songs for my grandmother" and for us it playfully shows Tuğçe and her grandmother in another dimension.

This live was recorded by Vincent Raude at the Dimensions festival in Croatia in 2018. Depth, space, dynamics, stunning dialogue and interaction of musical parties, minimalism.
