Solid Steel (7th February) In Hour 1 we welcome The Gaslamp Killer to start off the show. It's a mix of some of GLK's favourite current alternative groups specialising in the dark psychedelic side of rock and the harder edged beat music that he loves so much. Plus a couple of world psych classics in the middle, from fast to slow around we go, always a narrative journey with GLK.
DK continues with the beautiful collaboration between Debruit & Alsarah and onto the new Mount Kimbie remix for Kelis on Ninja Tune and the current single by Falty DL. Then it's a track from the Actress album Ghettoville and into the dub mix of classic 80's Boogie from Barbara Fowler, before ending with Cottam and Instra:mental from the last few years.

Halls has been in hibernation, carefully crafting his album <a href="https://soundcloud.com/no-pain-in-pop/sets/halls-love-to-give">'Love To Give' </a> but did take a break for a stint of modelling for Hedi Slimane. When its time to chill, this is how Halls likes to do it. Enter his world of relaxation.

"Sleep isn't always soothing - it can be tainted, restless, haunting. Phase one is drifting - phase two is hallucinating - phase three is descent - stage four is resolution. Sounds clash and are discordant, fragments drift closer and slip away from the foreground. These songs are a mix of sounds I associate with sleep.

"I had a dream. It was a regular day – with a big, sleepy yawn I stood up from the bed, washed my face, ate a peanut butter sandwich, put up my clothes, and started to pack my bag for the university. When I was ready, I came to the door to open it, but couldn’t do it. Something wasn’t right. I tried to open it again, and only then I saw how my hand went through the door handle. Immediately after realizing that, I found myself lying in the same bed, thinking „What the hell just happened? Was it a dream? It was so real!” I’ve never been so confused in my life. If things in dreams can be as real as in everyday life, then what does ‘real’ even mean?"

Roland Nights, aka Danny Stott is a name familiar to many underground house players and one that will no doubt be heard more in the future as he continues to make his mark on the deep house scene. 

Originally hailing from the north west of England, an area with its roots firmly embedded in the classic house scene, Roland’s productions emanate the influences of being raised on house music in a northern town and whilst it is not hard to see how classic house has influenced him. His twist on the sound of days gone by gives his productions a distinctive sound that is both classic sounding and forward thinking.
