For those who were asking what the mysterious mix that was put on after the DJs stopped playing outside at the Life and Death party in Art Basel, here it is. A mellow trip prepared by Greg from Thugfucker and presented here as a little thank you from all of us at Life and Death. 

It's been an amazing year and we're so very appreciative of all the support we've gotten as we've adventured forwards on this incredible musical trip together. We've got lots of exciting things planned for the year ahead (and beyond!) and we look forward to continuing together on this ride wherever it takes us.

Over 15 years ago up in Sweden, two young men started experimenting with deep, melody infused techno music. Not looking for fame or glory, but totally focussed on achieving altered stages of consciousness together with their audience, the duo was quickly recognised for their unique style and attitude. First touring the world as Son Kite, later as the well known Minilogue, it's hard find two artists who are more attuned to themselves, each other and their crowd as Marcus and Sebastian. &#13;
&#13;
After touring and working together for so many years, being taken all over the world and having been part of so many special journeys and experiences, they thought it was time to explore new territories: their inner selves. This journey is one that someone has to make for themselves. As a result, Marcus and Sebastian have decided to put their cooperation as Minilogue on hold, indefinitely, for the time being. Both will be exploring their own inner selves, spiritually and musically. Both still being full on artists, they will be inviting their audiences along on the ride, exploring the depths of the psyche through trance inducing music, but from now on separately, Sebastian performing under his full name Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus choosing for his Nobody Home moniker.&#13;
&#13;
Minilogue has been a big inspiration for years for everyone at SEKOIA, and the talk we had for our interview (also in DJMag NL) with them surpassed all our expectations of them having both feet on the ground but their heads up the clouds. These are artists that go beyond fame, beyond materialism. It's an honour to be able to host one of their last recordings as a duo, performed on new years day at Drift in Nijmegen.&#13;
&#13;
<i>“Things don’t tend to change from one moment to the next. It’s a slow and evolving process. You always need a starting point, or a certain frame. Within such a frame, one has total freedom to create whatever they want and you can also pick whatever frame you want (depending on the matters you get in touch with in daily life). Many people are inclined to praise a chosen frame when achieving something beautiful, but to me it’s all about the freedom a certain frame provides me with. And if such a frame is coloured in in its entirety, I don’t want to hold on to it. I’d rather start colouring within a new frame, to gain inspiration for newer and different frames. At this point in time, the frame that is called Minilogue is completely full, which allows me to release it. I might very well return to it at a later moment.”</i> - Sebastian Mullaert &#13;

This truly is a great honor, since I´ve been a listener of Dewtone Radio from day one, and still am a big fan. Dustin´s taste for Ambient, Electronica and Deep Dub Tech House at his radio station and same-titled Label still pleases me to this day! I am a big fan. So hereby I reply and thank him with a conscious selection of an electronic subgenre of dreamy Ambient, abstract Electronica and Deep Dub Tech implied Tracks, which are arranged in 3 phases. Another personal favorite is joining the ranks of contributors to the SEKOIA Podcast series. With every album more impressive than the last one, John Tejada’s prolific career has spanned over two decades and is ever on the rise. ‘On the rise’ can be interpreted in multiple ways, but for Tejada success is not measured in touring the most or playing the most gigs. The fact that he’s able to make a living out of making music does it all for him. 

‘Farther and Fainter’, ‘The Living Night’, ‘Unstable Condition’ and of course ‘The End of it All’. And there are still so many classic, memorable tracks made by John Tejada. It’s an honour to have this hour of music coming from his decks. Enjoy.

This podcast is a live recording of Stimming at the ZilpZalp Festival in former East Germany. Wouldn't we rather have a tailor made podcast to put exclusively on our channel? In Stimming's case, the answer is no. His music is best enjoyed live, interacting with the audience's energy.

ZilpZalp was his best and favorite show in 2014, because the people were amazingly nice and friendly and that made him feel comfortable  to experiment to his heart's content. The B-side of this humorously titled release is hands down one of my favourite tracks of all time, and definitely my favourite Levon Vincent creation. One of the few records that I can honestly say is well worth the high marketplace price, though I hope my copy gives me years of play! There's really no fitting description for this shifting chugger; it's a totally melodic and dubby slice of techno with a nice, subtle tinge of house-y-ness. It keeps going and going, with every element in its perfect place. Lots of reverb and warped sounds that build a series of layered loops from some ultimately quite simple components. For me that's the mark of perfection: a fugue-like cycle that plays on a perfect kick, bass drum, etc. And did I mention there are some VERY fat synth chords? Oh, and I just listened to it again and must add that there are some sweet pitched up lasers. I've always had a soft spot for the sound of lasers! Mmmmmm, Woman Is The Devil indeed.
