Dynamic UK duo Him_Self_Her are back on the essential Crosstown Rebels with another bumping deep house burner ‘Love You Like I Used To’ once again featuring the distinctive vocal chops of Kieran Fowkes who also appeared on previous Crosstown hit ‘Gone Too Long’ (which spent 11 weeks at the top of the Beatport chart). Featuring a tough and distorted remix from hot property Francesca Lombardo and the driving cosmic force of UK disco darlings Psychemagik on the flip, this is a house track for the peak season of al fresco hands-in-the-air dancefloors.

Claire and Leon aka Him_Self_Her have been producing together since 2012 when they hit it off on a musical level during their formative time on the local house scene in Leicester. All that it took was one studio session to realise the potency of their union and their genre blending productions showcase a range of deep grooves and disco infused techno with a human heart. With their breakthrough release ‘Gone Too Long’ sparking the attention of none other than Pete Tong, he promptly made it his Essential New Tune and support followed from heavyweight DJs such as Jamie Jones. Next releases came on Elite Records and OFF Recordings.

This track is taken from upcoming full length "Dead In A Ditch" by rarely-seen Michigan act Billowing. Regularly a duo of Scott DeRoche on prepared guitar and Fred Thomas on a spectrum of electronics and tape delays, this album was edited from a particularly inspired session where the band extended to include saxophonist Daniel Bennett, drummer Shigeto and bassist Tim Flood. The collective improvisations took on a tone of mostly bleak, wintery despair that lifted only slightly for the still-dour groove of this tune.

"For me this is a personal summer soundtrack, but not just for 2016. This is a choice selection of old, timeless favourite cuts that bring back memories of hot, sunny days and really set the scene. There was only room for a 2 or 3 newer tracks on this one. In the beginning the mood is from a nice summer afternoon, later I imagine that it's getting slowly dark outside, until the sun goes up again (last 2 tracks).

Just recently THNTS has discovered electronic music, before he was mostly interested in Hardcore, Black- and Doom-metal. 
A record collector and enthusiast he especially appreciated the created atmosphere. Soon he began to find the similarities in atmosphere and sound also in experimental kinds of techno.His DJ-sets resemble this development: sometimes driving, sometimes dreamy, but always telling a tale. 
After 1,5 years of involvement in the apathy crew he was a founding member of the new project ESCH which was born in the beginning of 2016.

We are back. The first show this year is a guestmix by my brother Brino-Soul from Pretoria, South Africa. I met him for the first time last year. Very humble guy with a lot of passion for music. I'm happy to have him in the show. Enjoy. 

Bio: Brino Soul has build his name in clubs around South Africa for a while. He started in 1999, collecting and playing on vinyls. He still collects vinyls to date. He loves collecting music that is distinctive to his ear, and that has earned him reputation amongst the best in the industry. He's future plans are to travel and play around the world, playing what he loves on vinyls. At the moment, he is one part member of The Garage Sessions, a movement that promotes a  djs that have a passion of collecting records. The Garage Sessions host monthly sessions in different places. Collectors and djs gather and play their favourite music on vinyls without any detour of someone telling them what to play. The movement is looking at breaking barriers and it looks expand it to masses around the country and beyond.
