Notes: Kaeng Krachan National Park protects an immense area of wilderness (almost 3000 square kilometres) & is a great place to record sounds and photograph nature. It is teeming with wildlife, including wild elephants, tigers, leopards, bears, gibbons and about 400 species of birds, although they are not all so easy to see.

This album is the result of several recordings made inside Kaeng Krachan in 2014.

Schulz Audio started making electronic music in 2004, since he started with classical house, later it searched satisfaction in minimal house and a little bit minimal techno. Then he slowly drifted deeper in to dub techno. He never felt that feelings in a genre before. It´s like once you are in dub techno, you never get out. Schulz Audio released his music on such famous labels as Hello Strange, Teol, MOSHItaka, Echogarden and others. He is very proud to become a part of this very underrated scene and he hope it will make him fun for a long time. What he want to do is make people floating away and forget there problems.

A nomad of modern times, who has travelled the continents with his music, Nu is as diverse in his musical styles as he is well-travelled. Taking influences from his various homes, the producer and trained sound engineer branched out into various genres. Through this years-long musical journey Nu then found his true calling: instrumentals amalgamated with his electronic production all held together through solid rhythms

Rhythm Büro’s fourth release is a much anticipated EP from one of it's co-cofounders, Na Nich aka Alexander Pavlenko. Pavlenko has been making music for nearly 20 years, most notably under the alias Sunchase. With the latter project, he was known in the drum and bass world as something of a child prodigy, but more recently Pavlenko started applying his artistry towards soundscapes that can be filed into the techno category. In the last four years he’s been first and foremost involved with Rhythm Büro, a techno initiative, party series and label from Kiev, Ukraine, that has since become well-regarded among DJs and dancers internationally.

This EP marks Na Nich's first solo EP, following a track featured on Semantica Records’ anniversary compilation ‘Arquitectura del Sueño’, along with a few tracks appearing on Rhythm Büro’s previous VA releases.

RB004 opens on the A1 with a track entitled ‘The Key’ which is one of the first tracks made by Na Nich. The listener is gently introduced to an ambient wonder wall before some percussive elements open up and synths set the mood: a transportive journey led by a kalimba-infused melody which swells with a certain ambiguity that seems to lend a shamanistic touch. A2’s ‘DVA’ is a more four-to-the-floor dubbed-out gentle fist pumper, with melting synth melodies and foggy layers backdropped by steady reaching high-hats and a consistently wise kick drum. A strong element of the psychedelic and inquisitive is much present.

The B side of the record is another part of the story: B1's ‘Log’ is an epic night-finisher dreamscape, a strong element of space seems to be the focus here as beats play less present in this foggy cinematic soundtrack to a film that has yet to be made. The remix version by Luigi Tozzi on B2 reminds us how deep this prolific Italian artist can take us down the rabbit hole. For fans of danceable, groove-centered and though provoking tunes to loose one's and find one's mind to.

Our latest in the series comes from the ever-inspiring Slowfoam. A beloved friend to many here in Seattle and, until very recently, a resident as well. Her mix for us, which couples well with a leisurely stroll to a nearby body of water, immerses you in her undeniable talent to capture the subtleties of organic surroundings--the large brush strokes and delicate intricacies alike. The trees and the forest. 

The set flows towards the ambient - it has a steady calming sensation woven throughout, with an occasional uprising of the eerie. It’s truly beautiful and a testament to the producer's keen ability to express emotions and experiences through sound.

With two excellent releases out on Jungle Gym Records and a self-released EP under her belt, Slowfoam has recently decided to take on the task of recording her first studio LP. While her kickstarter campaign is fully funded, additional funds are still of great help - we urge you to take a peek!

About Max:

Max Würden lives and works in Cologne Germany. He is since 1987 a musician and producer. In 2001 he started also with soundtrack productions. But in 2000 his music took shape when he started creating ambient music. Using samples, loops, field recordings and instruments. A variaty of genres came across his path: Ambient, soundscapes and dub ambient. To get the maximum experience he performs live.
