Welcome to this Atmospheres episode curated by Bålsam

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Anthony Asher-Yates approached ambient music when he moved to Colombia, being inspired by the diversity of the ecosystems that exist in this region. Known for taking his listeners deep into the tropical rainforest, Bålsam has conjured up a dream world surrounded by nature. Anthony's music is composed by field recordings he does during his walks though the mountains where he now lives with partner Nina Nativa and his daughter.

"I am in the Gran Dolina, ten meters deep, in stratum TD-6. It is very hot in summer and the atmosphere is dry. A molar appears under the clay. My colleagues confirm my hypothesis: the oldest hominid in Europe is right under our feet. The "estrato Aurora" was born to make history. A quarter of a century later, at downtempo rhythm, a dark and organic dance develops on a stratified and well organized timeline. The digger is finishing his work."

Jaime Romero aka Estrato Aurora (@lovebas) is also the half of Pajaro Dune project (with David Ortolá). He has been an integral part of Valencia's underground music scene. Jaime as a Dj and producer has more than 2 decades in the studio working with analogic machines and a whole kind of stuff. He defines himself as an Atmospheric music worker. His line on the last years has leaded to publish on known labels such as: Alpenglühen, Bliq Rec, Appian Sounds, On Board, Dial Rec. Discos Pandémicos, HC Records or Danza Nativa.  Two EPs and a LP with Siarem (@diabo-dj) will be released in the next few months.

November's full moon was particularly close to earth this year, making it a Supermoon. Under this Supermoon's light, the weekend was spent in company of friends whom we shared Japan adventures with; and we couldn't help but try to capture one of our best memories from there and bring it to you. 

For the 52nd page of Selene Series we re-recorded a mix recreating what we played at Bonobo Bar in Tokyo for the yearly Astral Industries get together (thank god for Recordbox's history feature).   In an attempt to be as faithful as we could to that night, we did not even touch the EQs. For that event, the menu was a selection of the most abstract ambient pieces, call it sound art, concrete, avant garde, drone... and slowly moving to a more melodic "hug me" soundbed tone.

DJ / producer who had contact with electronic music from an early age. At 16 years the participate various parties from his hometown and, cautious for rhythms, decided to devote more time to his passion. Exploring mixing techniques modern music, as well as looking for the right music, he has constantly made a name for himself by playing events, recording podcasts, and working on his own productions.

Before going to a concert or preparing a recording, He takes some time with the selection, goes through several tracks to find the correct ones and thus creates an experience amazing full of emotions for your audience. His style includes elegant themes and melodic compositions, of great intensity and beautiful atmospheres.

At his young age he participated in several important local parties organized by brands such as Octogonal, Moon Sound, Deep Motion and Blankă Records.

In 2019, he was a finalist in the open call for DJs and producers Open Call feeder sound Now.

Now, in 2020, he is part of the independent record label Blankă Records, and he is also Co-founder of Dub & Deep Channel.
